LOL. No special significance to the RATS book!
I'm an avid reader and just happened to pick this up at Barnes and Nobles one day.
It's an interesting diversion!
So what do you want to know about rat behavior?

Well...I'm afraid I have no good rat questions for you, but I'll put you in my mental files as my resource specialist on rats. Should my new home have them, I will refer to you.
It was a shocked last week to learn that you are not a fellow native Floridian, something I had kinda taken for granted. That was followed up by the realization that you could actually be a....a.....a YANKEE!!!
And now, you're reading about RATS !!!!

I will openly acknowledge that I live in the SOUTH and I am definitely not a YANKEE!!
To explain the RATS book, I am a BIBLIOPHILE even worse a BIBLIOHOLIC! H used to report a phobia of one day us waking up surrounded by books.
I probably have read at least one book about almost every topic. This is good news, back to doing what I love! During the A time, I couldn't even read a book. WOW! Now I keep at least two going at one time- FICTION and NONFICTION.
So this really is PERSONAL RECOVERY! I just realized the above- that I have started reading again! I'm on my way back.......
PART OF MY GODDESS MYSTIQUE which H missed! Conversations with me can be interesting on many varied topics......

Whew....that's a relief..
Well, I've heard of BIBLIOPHILES, but I don't think I've ran across a BIBLIOHOLIC before. Perhaps the guy in the Twilight Zone episode that worked in a bank and loved to read would classify as a BIBLIOHOLIC. I forget who the actor was, fairly well known. Anyway, he would hide out in the vault and read. One day he came out to find that civilization had been destroyed by a nuclear blast. He walked around town and came across the town library, and he was in bliss....all the time in the world and nothing to do but read. He started stacking up books on the library steps, then he stumbled, his glasses fell off, and he stepped on them. All the time in the world, a library full of books, but no glasses.
Anyway, I too love to read. I read Newsweek (not too popular right now!) as well as usually have a book going as well. I LOVE to read local history, one of the reasons I'm so excited about my house, I think, is the surrounding historic location. Unfortunately, there is (in housing) a fine line between 'historic' and 'ghetto'.
This too is something I've found a bit sidetracked during all this, but I'm beginning to read again, too. And I agree, it is a sign of personal recovery. Hard to want to read, or do anything else really, when you're preoccupied with the soap opera in your life.
Glad you're Southern...I shoulda' known, what with the GODDESS status and all...

All the time in the world, a library full of books, but no glasses. OMG! What a nightmare! That's why I have reading glasses in almost every room of the house.

GG,
Glad you are doing well and the move is coming up. BTW can you not get unlisted phone number along with the utilities? Just wondering. Might ask them when setting it up.
On the list of witnesses I would try and think of anyone and everyone you might get to give a statement. The longer the better. Her lawyer will also have to submit a list of witness to you.
Also if your STBX does not give you all the emails you can always submit to have her hard drive and then have a forensic IT person get the data back. I would have personally gone after the hard drive. You could find out a lot more than just through emails.
Does your wife work? Has she always worked? What does she have in way of personal money such as 401K and the like? Why not hire a detective in Canada that can give you a report on the OM. Do you plan to try and get a deposition from the OM and his wife? Why only one year for trips out of the country? Does your wife have her own bank account? How long has she had it? You think she has been with OM for the past five years off and on? I think a decent detective will be able to find out if the OM went on a trip sans his wife and met your wife. A good forensic accountant can find out what money went to this trip. If they occured.
Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to understand some more about your STBX. I agree you should not be talking to her just for your own sanity. I think your wife will do what it takes to try and keep you where she wants you. I think it is now hard on her to see her control over you and this situation slipping through her fingers.
In regards to your STBX's treatment of the DIL; it just seems she is jelous. Some women cannot handle when they are not the center of all activity. I hope your Son supports his wife when your STBX has been nasty to her. Your STBX is just digging a huge ditch and the only person who can fill it in is herself.
I admire everything you have been doing. I know no other man who would give so many chances than you.

Good Morning MoiNouvelle2 and others -
I may not hit every point, but I'll try to answer your concerns.
I will not have a "home" phone, only my cell. She doesn't have my personal cell #, only my work #.
On the OM issue, this one is OM#2 and has been around a little less than 2 years. The only clandestine visit(s) that may have occurred would be since I left in January. OM#1 started about 5 years ago.
The big picture: All of this "proof" stuff really is of no value. Georgia is a no-fault state. I could go into the court room with 1,000 e-mailes from other men, 100's of hours of phone calls, etc and it really doesn't matter much. However, if she committed adultery, then she would be entitled to no alimony. I do think it good that the judge realizes what is going on, but to "prove" each little point is overkill.
On ther job sitch, she works part time and doesn't have 401K or separate accounts where money could be hidden.
And, really the only reason that I have the list of names included in MY RESPONSE to her is to put her on notice that if she decides to get really nasty, like ask for a court trial, that there are a lot of folks who can offer first hand testimony to her actions. That would prove REALLY embarrassing for her, and I don't think she'd like to see her own parents and kids on a witness stand telling about her actions, especially when they can give equal accounts of the way that I have treated her over the years. I guess it is my attempt to keep her on the defensive.
It is important to keep in mind that this is a civil matter, not a criminal trial. And, at this point we will just appear before a judge, unless one of us requests a jury trial (which either of us can do).
In more pleasant news...the S.S. picnic last night was very nice. I took one of my world-class tossed salads. The picnic was on the banks of a large lake and the weather was beautiful, still a little "brisk" nip in the air. So far the weather in Georgia is delightful, however, hot and humid is on the way, I'm sure.
GOOD MORNING, MIMI..... (Can't leave that out!).

OOPS!
GOOD MORNING back to you, Georgia!
I'm bothered by referring to your wife as STBX. I like the description WW better.....

Call me naive, but I haven't figured out what STBX stands for....
However, I think WW is the more accurate term for right now.

Oh...I think I will stick with the WW moniker right now. The STBX label sounds like I'm counting the days...
May be just semantics at this point, but WW is okay with me.

Yep! Just semantics..
She will always be Mrs. Georgia to me....
What a loss for her! I see her treading water in the ocean while the ship keeps going farther and farther out to sea...

Thanks, Mimi..that is very kind.
There is nothing about this subject that you and I haven't said already many, many times. But...I just don't understand it. Surely she knows how hard life is going to be, how she is basically losing her whole family who has loved her so deeply, and she is losing her future. We are (if you will pardon me including you as well) reaching the point in our lives where we are likely to NEED our spouses and others in the next decade or two. Life doesn't come with a REWIND button. It's on PLAY all the time (RECORD, actually). You don't get to go back and do it over.
I dunno. I don't think I will ever understand how we have gotten to this point.

P.S. I picked out my washer, dryer, refrigerator at Best Buy last night. To be delivered next Tuesday afternoon right after closing.

I know WE have said it all before BUT...
It's some form of insanity! That's about as logical of an explanation that I've been able to come up with.
Washer/dryer/ refrigerator... WOW! Funny you mentioned these.
My FWH surprised me by picking these out himself for our new house and having them delivered. It did not make much difference to me what he picked out. He, of course, picked out the top-of-the-line models! He was coming out of his insanity, out of the fog, at that time....finding his way back home. Wow, does he love those appliances! He does most of the clothes washing in our family!

I think it goes without saying that a GODDESS can only have her clothes washed in a TOP OF THE LINE machine, and dried accordingly.
I am buying the "near" bottom the line GE washer and dryer. The refrigerator I am buying is the same one that is / was currently in the house (Fridgedaire) as it matches the other kitchen appliances. They were all replaced at the same time (2 years ago) when the kitchen was remodeled. I don't know that I will ever LOVE these appliances, but they are nice and pretty.
Anyway, I'm going to try to leave a little early and go by Best Buy to finalize that purchase. Also, I plan to finish my painting tonight and start getting stuff packed & ready to move.

oh man....
I am changing carriers of my auto insurance as I'm getting a package deal on the new house. My agent just called and told me she just called WW to get some information from her.
WW asked the agent where the bill would be sent. And of course, the agent said "xxxx xxxxxx Avenue".
So...before I close, before I move in...WW knows where I'm going to be.
Does anyone have a job that I can take and just move to another town?

Well...I guess I knew that she would find me, that's not really an issue.
I just don't want Attack Dog getting her foot in the door in any way between now and closing and try to stop this. I don't think she can legally do anything about it, but it still makes me nervous.

FGG,
I've forgotten, have you requested a restraining order for WW?
