So, it seems that they have their pretty much minds made up from reading the petitions before the court session and just get all the testimony on the record. Then they go ahead and rule as planned. I imagine they don't come up with arbitrary judgements but have fairly standard rulings taking into consideration the length of the marriage, the incomes, and the ability to make an income. That must be pretty common in no fault states like ours.
I can't imagine what they were trying to gain by bringing up OM at all in her testimony. I guess it was just to defend and justify her feelings that she was entitled to other relationships because of her rewritten negative marital history.
I am sorry you had to listen to it all.
I think it is great how you have been getting on with making a very comfortable, active, involved life for yourself.
I believe you have a lot to look forward to in your life.
I really have lots of respect for you.

That is an interesting response, Mimi. Would you care to elaborate as to why my response irritated you so, or should we leave it at "Signing off in a Regal Huff"?

Gimble:
I apologize..I took it wrong..sounded kind of sarcastic...
You know what though? You helped me out today actually...
I got to wondering whether I was RECIPROCATING ENOUGH...my H is being WONDERFUL to me...
So right after our interchange here I called him to tell him how much I appreciate all that he does for me..Sometimes I'm afraid that I don't do enough..can't match all that he does...
In our case, though, he is trying to let me know how sorry he is about all the BAD STUFF he did...
So, thanks....

My wife and I really enjoy doing little special things for each other also.

It is a good thing to face up to the damage one has caused. It is also a good thing to learn to let go of it at some point. Accepting forgiveness is a very important part of surviving infidelity - for both the wayward and the betrayed.
Nothing was intended by my signing the post "All the best". I frequently do that.
God bless, Gimble

MIMI- check out the MINI Cooper. BMW produces them now. I absolutely adored mine and it about killed me to let it go, but with the new baby and two other kids in the home...well, I'll be getting another one as soon as I can.

Mojodiva -
I have actually been thinking about a Mini Cooper convertible. My garage (built in 1935) is REALLY tight. When I get my Accord in there, I have to squeeze out of the door.
Trix -
I think she (the judge) actually calculated the alimony and such while we were all talking. I don't know how she arrived at the figures she did, but she seemed to be reviewing the financial data closely while we were in court.
And thanks, by the way, for your comments. I appreciate it.

Moj,
We test drove a mini cooper - but were bugged by the cost of replacing the non-repairable tires!
Each tire costs $260 according to our dealer, YIKES!!
It was sure fun to drive though

Aha! A "Model A Garage"!
I was looking recently at a picture of our house taken in 1918 that shows a big touring car in the driveway. I've been dying to figure out what make that car is and look for one to restore when the house is done. In the meantime, I'm talking 2 a 2ple of restoration shops about having my Model A restored, finally (I've had it for over 35 years!).

2Long -
Perhaps we can work out a deal, you restore your Model A and you can park it in my garage!
When I bought the house, the front of the building was boarded up with a regular walk-thru door installed. I noticed that the boarded up section was about the size of a garage door, so I tore it out (it looked terrible) and restored it to it's garage status.
Funny thing, the folks I bought the house from had lived there 15 years and never realized that their "storage building" started life as a garage.

Georgia We live in military housing so we also deal with very small one car garages (we're lucky enough to have a unit that has one!). I was always so happy with how much room we had left over even with the car parked inside due to storms. My MINI had a panorama sunroof. With one of those and both windows rolled down, we realized it felt like having a convertible. Im not partial to the convertaile, but I could definately 'see' you motoring in a MINI. You have the adventurous and fun personailty-- I could see that by the way you took to working on your new homes. Sue- Were those tires the run flats? We had a warranty for our tires but never did the motoring expert tell us the cost of the tires. HAHA. Not that it would have stopped me! I miss my MINI so much. Hubby and I talk about it almost every day.

Morning folks -
I'm using one of my remaining 7 vacation days today and taking the day off.
Mojodiva - On the way home from church last night I passed a used car lot that had a mini covertible out front. I stopped by and peaked. I also peaked at a Volvo convertible. Hummm...big difference. However, no purchases until the dust settles on my finances. I just paid xW almost $3,000 today.
I met with our associate pastor last night and talked with him about joining the church. I hadn't wanted to xfer my membership until the divorce was final. I plan to join this Sunday.
I hope you all have a good day, talk to you tomorrow.

I love peeking at the MINIs. I even have MINI desktops for my computer still. hehehe. I will point out that MINIs hold their resale value very, very well.
Im so glad you are joining the church. I was just wondering about that a few days ago, hoping oyu had someone there you could get counsel with if you needed it. Im happy this week because I found a Unitarian-Universalist church just 15 minutes away from my home! I'm thrilled- for some reason when I searched for one in the area last year I didnt see the listing. Im also excited that they said I could have the baby with me in the service. Im one of those overprotective moms that wont let their baby out of their sight. Im thankful everyday that Im blessed to be able to stay home with him. My husband works two jobs, but since it feeds his manly ego to provide that way, we are all pretty much content with the situation at the moment.
How is your dog? Mine needs a haircut really badly. Poor thing comes in second now since the baby arrived.

Good Morning, folks...
I'm back at work today. I enjoyed my day off yesterday, the weather is so nice around here now with the cool fall air.
Sunday I'm having the whole gang over to my house for "Thanksgiving" (so we're a little late?). I'm cooking a turkey, a ham, red-skin mashed 'tater's, stuffing, and something green (TBD).
Tonight I'm having my next door neighbors over for dinner (the newlyweds). They're being fed my chicken cordon bleu, fresh aparagus (with grated parmesean cheese and almonds), 'taters and yeast rolls. (Okay, I'm in the mood to cook right now)!
Now, for the latest in problems. My realtor called last night. She has been trying several times a day all week to reach xW on both her cell phone and home phone. There is no answer and she has been unable to leave a message (she says both just rings and rings). I was afraid this would be a problem. If she won't even talk to the realtor, imagine what it's going to be like when the house is listed and she wants to bring people over to see it.
I suppose I need to call my attorney this morning and tell him she isn't cooperating with the realtor. Sigh....
Mojodiva - Jeb is doing great. He seems to really like the cooler weather. Last night I sat down to watch a movie while I was eating dinner (Stouffers lasagna). He sat there looking at me the whole time I was eating and as soon as I was finished, he was in my lap. He's learned not to jump in the middle of my food.
He is still waiting on me in bed as soon as I come out of the bathroom each night. He has learned that ritual really well.
BTW - I watched White Oleander last night. I forget now who recommended it, but I checked it out of the library. It really is a good movie about a young girl going through the "system" (DFCS, foster homes, group homes, etc.).
On a related subject, my CASA case is scheduled to be in court 2 weeks from yesterday. I've got to write my report and get that ready.
