All my UK friends, I am sorry. 40 dead so far and 200 injured is the report I heard this morning. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

We couldn't be much closer to all the chaos. There are police cars, fire engines and helicopters going over non-stop. What carnage. Makes me sick to my stomach. Felt so relieved to be here and now feeling all spooked and stressed. I hope they pick them all out on the CCTV cameras and justice is swiftly served. My brother missed the blast at Aldgate station by 10 minutes. We are in shock. TT

TT, didn't realize you had already left for London. I thought you were still in HK. Thank God your brother is ok as well as you and your girls.

I'm sorry for the loss your country has felt.

Now, on another note...to those who wish to cast blame where blame does not belong...

I don't believe anyone should place blame on the USA and the war in Iraq, for this attack. It was NOT American's who planted the bombs. If you choose to cast blame please learn to cast blame where blame is due, on those who committed this crime.

I guess one thing that I have certainly learned in the years I have been here at MB is that NOBODY is responsible for the actions and choices of ANOTHER. Be it the choice to have an affair or the choice to join a terrorist network and plant a bomb that kills hundreds of innocent people.

It is what it is a Terrorist attack, not because of the war, but because they made the choice to do evil.

Just as the war in Iraq at this point, it would be over IF Terrorist from OTHER countries would allow them to start rebuilding.

As far as I know, the United States Government AND the Brittish Government as well as some other countries made a PROMISE to the Iraqi people, that they would stay *UNTIL* they could get their own Government in place AND start rebuilding. But for some reason, these Terrorist don't want that, it is the terrorist who are preventing that from happening, NOT the Governments of either the U.S., ENGLANDor the other countries. So again, if you wish to cast blame, please cast it where it is due on those who planted the bombs to begin with.

And if people were as angry at those who did this instead of blaming someone else, maybe just maybe they would start putting pressure on the countries who offer support to them
and their terrorist activities those Governments would start taking action and punishing them to fullest extent of their OWN LAWS.

((((((((((all London and UK MB'ers)))))))))))))

I lived in Madrid, Spain for 13 years.
I know how it is to wake up to the sound of a massive blast, shattered windows, screams, ambulances and panic.
I know the feeling of sadness, fear, and anger when something so incredibly senseless like this happens.
I feel so awful, I just want to cry.
Brings back memories of friends lost in the terrorist attack that took place in Madrid in the train system.

My heart goes out to you. London holds some of my happiest memories, and is one of my favourite cities in the world.

Prime Minister Blair said "An attack on one country is an attack on all countries".

Hey TT - I feel so bad for you. If you want to escape, you can always come to California. I can get to the airport in a half hour.

I will be praying for protection for everyone in London.

The proud statement from Al Qu'aida

Quote
In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate, may peace be upon the cheerful one and undaunted fighter, Prophet Muhammad, God's peace be upon him.

Nation of Islam and Arab nation: Rejoice for it is time to take revenge against the British Zionist Crusader government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is now burning with fear, terror and panic in its northern, southern, eastern, and western quarters.

We have repeatedly warned the British Government and people. We have fulfilled our promise and carried out our blessed military raid in Britain after our mujahideen exerted strenuous efforts over a long period of time to ensure the success of the raid.

We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all the Crusader governments that they will be punished in the same way if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. He who warns is excused.

God says: "You who believe: If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly."

The 'herioc' mujahideen laid bombs to kill and maim commuters before sneaking off. Such craven cowardice is beneath contempt.

What I fear now is a whiplash of islamophobia,. Many young british Muslims support terror from the cosy confines of their British homes.

They must distance themselves form these attacks or I fear race riots like I recall from the early eighties.

Similar happened to irish people during the IRA attacks of the seventies.

Bob, you just made me think of one of my best friends, who is a muslim teacher living in London. She is one of the sweetest, most brilliant people I know.
I am affraid for her.

I can't seem to reach her either.

May I respectfully issue a request for us to keep politics off the MB board? And especially to keep emotive statements off the boards.

Bob, at least some of the people posting here are likely to be young and Muslim. You may not have such a supportive audience as you imagine. At least one Muslim poster has been driven off the board by the vehemence expressed towards Muslim 'attitudes'. That is deeply sad.

Many of the people posting here have loved ones currently serving in Iraq, and may have very mixed feelings about the rightness or otherwise of involvement there.

This is not the place to express sentiments about the religion or politics of others. Slapping an 'OT' sticker on does not make it OK.

It doesn't matter what name they go by, what organization they say they are a part of. These guys are serial murderers. When I read about bombings in London and Iraq, it seems more like bloodlust. They don't care who they kill. On the Tube, there could have been a train full of kids from a Muslim school and the bomb still would have exploded. They just want to kill.

There are truly evil people in this world, regardless of their religion. God bless those that were hurt, and their families.

Just got back home...I work close to London but was unaffected. I had to pick up my DDs from school in Surrey and when I got there there were hardly ANY cars waiting and all children had been told parents may be late and to go back into school if they were not there. I hugged my girls close and felt sick.

I hadn't been able to get a hold of my husband nor he me as the monile network was jammed....so just got home and picked up the message that he didn't go to LOndon but had stayed at his Leatherhead office today. I feel calmer now.

Yesterday I went with hubby and MIL up to London to see a solicitor....first time MIL and I had been for years....gee...brings it all home how vulnerable we all are.

Tuck Tummy....welcome home! Sorry you arrived back to something so scary.

Hugs to everyone.

To Bob and all my UK MB friends, my prayers go out to you all. I haven't even had the heart to watch the news yet. It hits me that with the evil and lack of stability in our world how important for all of us, especially our children, it is to have stability at home. It highlites for me how these As are just one more evil in the world, making life more difficult in such difficult times.

Please know that your American friends obviously know how it feels to be attacked in such a vicious way. CV

I suggest you actually read what I wrote before pontificating.

I FEAR a backlash not SUPPORT one !

You think I am RACIST calling Al Quai'ida '*******' TA ?

I would say the same of ANY religion or race responsible for thse outrages.

And BTW Squid, whom I have fought so hard for this past year ? Half madrasi Indian.

Her Mom, whom I love as a mother. Madrasi Indian.

Hardly racist credentials TA.

OT is because this topic does not discuss marriage issues NOT because I want immunity from my opinions !

Grrr.
