Too many times we see threads that start with despair, sadness, grief, and hopelessness. Most people here have a D-day story and as a group we are here to support one another and try to provide advice as well as hope to those in need.

I wanted to start a thread that showed something positive and uplifting to give hope to those that cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. We should tell of how things are good because of the help we have received and how we are optimistic about the future. We should avoid putting anything negative in this thread so that when someone feels down or unsure they can come here to see what is possible and that all is not lost. Sometimes reading about other’s successes can lift the spirits of the down individual and give them new energy to reach their goals.

So, let’s here about your successes and the good times you have had with your loved one. Maybe the good weekend you had, the fishing story you’ll never forget, or just the fun you had of going to the store with each other. Show us the rewards you and your loved one have gained to prove to others the pain will not stop you from being the happy couple you want to be.

Allow me to start…

Undo and I have been going out a lot over the past few weeks. My depression for the last couple of years has given me excuses not to go out and I now see the good times that we have missed out on. Last night she qualified for the finals in a karaoke contest in the Chicago area and has made it to the final 25 out of nearly 200 people. The finals are next Wednesday night and I’m very anxious to see her compete. Please root her on.

We recently bought a pool table and I’m trying to teach her about the game. I used to play competitively years ago and she is excited about learning. She has asked about the two of us starting in a pool league so we could find something new that would challenge us as well as give us time out together. I’m hoping we can find something nearby.

We are talking about the future with twinkles in our eyes and smiles on our faces. What was once occupied with sadness has now been replaced with excitement. I consider myself the luckiest guy to be married to such a beautiful woman who loves me. We both miss each other during the day and we talk via IM quite often. This builds our anticipation of seeing each other when we get home which has also renewed our sex life.

I have more energy now because I am looking at our marriage with new eyes. I feel like we are dating again and that is exciting because I remember how good it felt 11 years ago when I first met her. Every day is a victory to our inner battles because of how much love we have for each other and the fun we share.

I love you Undo.

Hopeful, what a beautiful post.

My FWH wrote such a sweet letter to me last week.
It was not easy for him to do. His actions, his words, mean so much to me right now. We are really talking now, really connecting, and radically honest. The MC and IC have been lifesaving.

I feel hope for our future together for the first time
in months.

I have no doubt we are both stronger people now
and are working VERY hard to be happy together again...

Though my wife and I are separated we still see each other as if we are going on a date. This has sparked new life into our hopes and dreams and we continue to work towards a better tomorrow.

This weekend we will be going out to photograph lighthouses. We are both very excited and I expect to be able to report back with good news. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

A Positve message...

Last night Hopeful4Future and I went out on a date. I was singing in a kareoke contest. I can tell you, this was the first time I was actually more excited about being with him than singing in a contest. Sure I was looking forward to it but I was more looking forward to have a wonderful evening with my husband. I was a little nervous about getting up there since there were some good singers there, but he made me feel confident. Then while I was singing, all I could see where these heads with no faces, except for one face...
Hopeful4Future's. It felt so good to to see him there, all the nervousness settled down to a mild chatter. It's like I could feel his love wrapped around me the whole time. It payed off too, I became a finalist for next week's contest!! Yeah me. But I don't I could have done it without him. Tonight, a quiet evening at home. Curl up on the couch, watch a movie and get some sleep in "our bed". Yeah times like these can last you forever...

I love You too Hopeful4
