I am (or at least one of) the resident sponsors of Marriage Fidelity Day (MFD). We are hoping to get our Governor to proclaim/designate Sept 15th as such. One of the ways we are doing this is by petition.

If you would like to support MFD and wish to sign the petion please email me at Timbertermite@sbcglobal.net Email me your address and we will get it out to you ASAP.

I will send you a copy of the petition to sign along with a stamped envelope pre-addressed to me. All you need to do is sign it and drop it in the mail. Could that get any easier?

You may also choose to have friends and/or family sign it before sending it back (provided they are Ca residents).

If you feel your signature may not make the difference, you may be right. But it simply feels good to take a stand for what you believe and know you did all you could.

Do the words government and fidelity belong in the same sentence?

Just kidding. This is a good thing you are doing.

Thanks for the emails guys. The packages should go out this week.

Also want to bump this up over the next couple of days so all the left coasters get a chance to see it.

This is snow balling, so far we have 5 churches on board and hoping to gets hundreds of signatures.

Getting my hopes up we can pull this off and be the second state to sign.

Bramblerose, if your interested email me anyway and I'll tell you how to sponsor your state (that goes for anybody). You don't have to do a petition, you can send in the request for proclamation all on your own with just your signature. It's a very simple proceedure and only takes about 5 minutes and a stamp. Alaska was the first state to sign and I could be wrong but I belive it was done with just the one request and one signer.

Wouldn't that be a nice anniversary gift?

Bump friday, last day, packages go out today. For those of you that have emailed me, and you want more than just your signature and if you attend a church you may consider asking people there to sign. That is where we are having the most positive response. We have FIVE churches on board, my mother has a meeting today with a christian book store to ask permission to leave a petition at the cash register.
