Thank you!!! Pep for posting this update on her and her family, and to you nikko for posting the question here!
I been following the news and it looks terrible and getting worse. I have called her to her home but received a circuits busy signal, and didn't wanted to try her cell so she could save battery. I'm so releived they are ok! Thank you again for posting this! Will keep praying for them.

Susan was supposed to text message me that she was Ok.
I haven't heard from her. She's in my prayers. My cellular phone service seldom worked (all circuits busy) so I didn't waste my battery until today....and my brain is gone. My son also accidentally took my car charger and I just got it back. We are ok. We have no power...a small trickle of water but somehow our phone is now working. I have no idea how because the lines are flat on the ground in the front yard. On laptop with limited battery. Thanks for you thoughts and prayers. It has been unreal.

It almost makes me feel guilty...survivor's guilt, or something like that. I was lying in bed hot and crying and feeling sick last night myself...and then I felt pretty guilty because I have it so much better than many.

Suz I don't know if you will see this before you depart. But I do know you will be looking for safe roads I took this from another board. I hope the information gets in time. Please take care!
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said Wednesday that the following roads are closed for search and rescue efforts:
Interstate 10 from Louisiana to Alabama. U.S. 90 from Louisiana to Alabama. U.S. 49 from Seminary to Gulfport. Interstate 59 from Louisiana to Alabama. Mississippi 63 from Lucedale to Moss Point. Mississippi 607 from I-10 to Stennis Center. U.S. 84 from Collins to Waynesboro. U.S. 98 from Mobile to Hattiesburg. MDOT officials said motorists will be asked to show emergency personnel identification in order to access these roads.
They said Interstates 55 and 20 as well as U.S. 49 from Jackson to Seminary are open but motorists should exercise extreme caution and travel with patience due to excessive debris.

You are in my thoughts and prayers also. And anyone else in the region. I kept looking for updates here about you, and just now found this. I'm so glad you are OK. I'm in B'ham, and my Dad is in Mobile. He made it through OK too, just limbs down and no power. He is now staying with me for a few days.
There's an old MB'er, GodlyMan, that posted a few years ago, that lives in Gulfport. I have lost contact with him over the last year or so. I hope he and his W are OK.

Susan,
I've been praying for you, Pal!!
You have my email and phone number. Let me know if there's ANYTHING I can do to help you!! Thanks for the prayers. I do not have your phone number, but could you please bring water, ice and gas? LOL We did not go to my mothers. There is of course no gas here, and a shortage there. Some towns are out. We were scared we would get there and get stranded, so we are toughing it out. It is an adjustment, but we are managing. We are very blessed. Thank you ALL for your thoughts and prayers.

So GOOD to hear from you, Susan! I've seen some amazing footage of your area. It's really sweet of you to use your battery to update MB!
We're nearly out of gas here, too. In my town of 25,000 people we have ONE gas station that is still pumping gas. The line for it was over a mile long. Insane.
I can only imagine how much worse it is down there. We got power back at home for about 20 hours (a/c, thank the Lord!), then lost it again yesterday. But at least we have potable water and an intact home! We're learning to be thankful for the things we DO have, and not dwell on the little inconveniences.
We have our lives, our families and our home. We are blessed.

She is OK ... spirits are good. That's good. Want to send Susan and all other MBers out there the prayers from us in the big blue. Been thinkin' a lot 'boutcha u all. H has his assignment but I can't remember the name of the area. Most of his cases can't be reached due to phone lnes down and can't do the physical inspections yet. Faith1, glad to hear from ya, girl. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I thought you were farther south and was quite worried. Hugz to all, L.
