Search online. The price was higher than $600 when I looked, at least for the kind w/o an external antenna.
I would think hiring the right private investigator they would be able to install for you for a fixed period of time... I read about some kind where even the person who gets it installed doesn't know where it's located w/in the car!
But really you are pretty sure he is in contact with OW, right?

I recently purchased a small tape recorder(not digital) that is voice activated. Would that work???? The tape only has 90 minutes on one side though. I had one of these first and found it O.K. in the house but too sensitive for use in the car. It ran the whole car ride and wasn't clear enough to hear conversations. The digital thingamabobs do a much better job. Additionally, when the tape recorder version gets to the end of the tape and shuts off it really makes for a loud click sound which in a completely quiet car, say sitting in the garage before he comes in, might be noticeable. You do not want to ever get caught using this method as it would really be considered over the top by a WS. ACT OUT

No problem Kimberly, I am eating up the info too!
I have no proof that contact is ongoing, except he acts more like a man having an affair now than he did before d-day. I would think that PI's would rent out those tracking devices. I will call tomorrow.
He also has Sirius radio, I know they can track if the car gets stolen, but I would think you'd have to have the police to authorize that.
I could always call that show "Cheaters", that is depressing. They just follow the scum around and then get the BS on the scene and video the confrontation. I really hate that my life looks like the "Jerry Springer" show.

I don't know about the other brands, but Nextel has the option of GPS on their phones for about $5-10/month. The phone has to be on, but if you set up an online account for that phone you can go right on the site and ping the GPS. As long as he doesn't lock it down to 'permission only' he will never know you looked. Another handy feature of Nextel is you can view the sent and received text messages there on the website, even printing them for future use. "Here honey, I got you this cool phone with all these great features!"

Jean,
You can get a GPS tracker for less than $250. It looks innocent - grey plastic with no labels or identifying marks. You can just toss it in the glove box, and most people won't notice it, or you can find a better hiding place, but it has to be where it can "see" through glass and plastic to the sky (ie. not inclosed in metal like it would be in the trunk). You take it out and download the data (to a computer) every week or so - and put in fresh batteries. The info is very detailed. Basicly, you will know where the vehicle was every second that it was moving. You can watch the track of the vehicle on a map with the provided software. The more drive time, the more frequently you'll have to change the batteries. The batteries usually run down before the memory is full.
Look on e*bay for LAS-3100-Int (Land Air Sea 3100 w/Internal Antenna).
There are other models that you can track real-time, but you really don't need that. If you use that kind, you'll find yourself hanging 'round the computer checking it all the time and possibly driving around after your H looking for somebody to whack. It's better (safer) just to get the info later.
I'm going to list mine on E*bay soon, but usually there are a few up for sale there so you don't have to wait for mine. You can buy them new directly from the manufacturer for around $350.
