my wife told me she thinks she wants a divorce. and i do not want that. ive been trying to fix things but it isnt helping. ive asked her why and she said ive done things she cant forget. i didnt cheat or any thing. but i used to drink alot and get violent. never touched her though but i would cut my self and break things and emotionally abuse her. ive quit drinking and help around the house pretty much do it all for her and try to show my love more but it isnt helping i dont think. I dont want to split up after she told me i realize i cant live with out her. and am willing to do anything to save this. so i can use any help anyone can give me, please..

Hi Aphezel....
I'll give you my 2 cents on the issue....
Your W made a statement, you said she "Thinks" she wants a divorce. She "Thinks vs I Do" are two worlds apart. Don't wait get busy. Therefore you got a great opportunity to make some radical changes in your life and restore your marriage. I don't know how long you guys have been married but she has a lot things where the wounds run deep.
It sounds like you want to do her good and not hurt her but you have so much pain in your own personal life and your pain becomes her pain. It sounds like you need inner healing. You listed a lot of things dealing with an inner emotion "Rejection" it keeps you caught between unable and unworthy. You used to drink and other things, but they are just the fruit of the root. Once you identify the root and deal with it, everything else begins to die and new life and the real you begins to emerge. The you that swept her off her feet.
I recommend three things you can do if you want to see some change:
1. Go buy this book called "The Purpose Driven Life". (For your inner healing)
2. If there's any unmanaged financial debt get it under control pursue financial freedom. (For you and your house)
3. Read the marriage builder material on this site and buy any recommended marriage book that hits home. (For you to rebuild your marriage)
Your greatest marriage restoration is going to be from the inside out. Getting them out of order is only a temperol solution and your back where you started.
Anyway this is my 2 cents, good luck!

my wife told me she thinks she wants a divorce. and i do not want that. ive been trying to fix things but it isnt helping. ive asked her why and she said ive done things she cant forget.
Help im also in the same situation...im just 5 months old married and my wife whenever she looses her temper always tell me its better for us to divorce or whenever I dont follow what she wants...
She is 24 years old and we didnt really got to know each other deeply before we got married.. i am living in uae and she is living in canada when we became boyfriends and girlfriends and finally we decided to get married so she came here to marry me.
I dont want to split up after she and am willing to do anything to save this. so i can really use any help anyone can give me, please..
I always gave her what ever she wants within my capabilities and I have never intentionally hurt her...she came from a rich family and im a poor guy so sometimes she asks things that i cant provide..but im doing my best...please advice....
