I had such a horrible day yesterday and it was nothing to do with my marriage.

Firstly, I accidently threw a warranty receipt in the rubbish bin for $2,000 which I needed in order to get a repair sorted. My lovely daughter and a friend helped me go through the huge black bin bags at work and we found it eventually.

Secondly, I visited a friend's house for a swim to cool down. Time came to leave and I couldn't find my car keys. Turned out they were caught up in a pile of clean bed linen which had been taken up to her bedroom. Took an hour to find them.

Got home late. Eldest daughter said, "call nanny in England, she said it's important". So with all sorts of dread going through my head about my family, it turned out some b*[censored] had 'cloned' my credit card when I was in England in the summer and was having a very jolly time spending hundreds of pounds on my account. Was on the phone to the UK Bank Fraud people for ages sorting it out. As I'm in HK and can prove it was not me, I will eventually get the money back but it was just more hassle.

Then, as I put the phone down, my daughter said "mum, the dog's missing". So off we go in our car to our old house where he has made his way for the second time this month, even though we moved house 11 months ago.

Everything turned out fine. Got back the warranty, the keys, the dog and will hopefully get the money back too. But sometimes, do you ever feel like you're being tested?

No replies necessary. Just having a rant. Poor me. TT <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Oh boy - I can relate to your day. It kind of makes you ask the question - will this ever end?????? Next week you will laugh about it, but it sucks going through it......

You found your receipt
You found your keys
You found your dog
Your cash will be refunded

And that was a bad day ?

It was a good day ! You didn;t lose anything and you learned :
To be careful with receipts
To be careful with keys
To keep the gate locked for the dog
To be thankful fo card fraud protection ! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

* not being glib ! I'm always chuffed when my fecklessness or bad luck causes a problem but no harm ensues. And it make sme very careful for a while afterwards !

Now if you'd LOST all those things, its a real DOOZIE of a bad day !

One of those days, years from now, when you'll sit down with your girls and laughingly say: 'Do you remember when?'

Your story made me smile, and I bet just a few hours later, it's making you smile, too. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

TT, can't find the post you suggested I read. But this one came up. Unreal day eh? Hope you had a nice bucket of cold wine to soak up all that stress afterwards??

I hate those days! Some days it seems like the whole world is out to knock you down. Just think of what a strong role model you were for your daughters. They came to you with problems and you fixed them. They saw you literally digging in muck and coming out sucessful. Someday years from now they will be faced with something difficult and they will not give up because of your example.

fbwidow - you're very kind but I think they're more likely to remember the day that mummy nearly went out of her mind. I reckon I spent 3.5 hours yesterday sorting out my 'problems'. I hope I can make better use of my time in future!
