My husband grew up in the town where the movie is set. We've been to the hockey rink, attended Mass at the church, gone by the motel, and eaten at the Village Inn. He worked in the mines 15 years before. He said the depiction was "mild".

I haven't yet but I want to.I like Charlize Theron and it sounds like an empowering but sad story of survival dealing with terrible men harrassing women in the workplace(as many of us can sympathize with).

Yes. I married into that culture. They certainly did their research in recreating the culture. The only funny mistake was a Mitsubishi truck -- American cars only in that town!
