I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this, since I just started on this site, but here goes. My fiance and I have been together for 7 years, and he has a 14 year old son from a previous relationship. Recently I have found out that he has been confiding in his son's mother about things that he doesn't talk to me about, and this really bothers me. She tells me that it's ok for him to confide in her, but it's not ok with me, especially since I know that she still has feelings for him even though they haven't been together since their son was 2 years old. When I tell him that this bothers me, he doesn't understand why. They live in another state, so I know nothing physical is going on between them. Am I being unreasonable for feeling this way. As far as I'm concerned, their only topic of conversation should be about their son. Am I wrong?

I do not believe you are wrong either by your emotional pain from this or what you think he is doing in being wrong.

Your husband should not be keeping secrets from you. He should not be having private conversations with an ex-spouse regardless of the topic.

I do not believe that people should have any types of relationships with EXs UNLESS, kids are involved. If kids are involved, then the conversations should be restricted to talking about the children only. And you have every right to know the details of those conversations.

If you haven't taken the time to learn the Basic Concepts taught on this site, I would encourage you to do so.
