Just saw it tonight. There was one scene where the little girl tells Nicholas Cage's character that he isn't her real daddy.....instead he is a pretty close replica and that he is an alien that came from the 'mothership'. I cracked up when I heard that line...... in this case it was kind of 'a wonder life' movie in reverse. It was a good movie. Made my son ask if I was married to his dad because I loved him or 'something else'. Hm..... hate it when they ask those kinds of questions. Had to spend some quality time explaining about how love really is played out in real lives. Son (11 years) says he will not marry someone he has to yell at. LOL!!! Think there's hope?!?!?! A mother can only wish. L.

I was going to mention that it was a 'good' movie, pretty free of bad triggers.
H put it on while I was in the kitchen, when I came in he "rolled back" so I could see the beginning. I'd seen the trailer for it at some time, but never had seen it.
H really liked it. Said, during the bowling alley scene, "I wish someone had told me that".
I think they should have resolved that a little better but it was ok, because the main message was choosing family.
We watched it together as H held me very close and stroked my hand during the intensely emotional parts. It was a good experience to see it, for us.

I caught part of it last night. Movies and stuf din't usually trigger bad reactions from me, but during Family Man, I wondered if stuff triggers my WH. I wonder if he ever sits in that motel and thinks about me and/or the girls.
I really doubt that he does.

I watched it with my son and I really liked it. It was a huge trigger for me though and made me cry after he went to bed. The concept of never getting over your one true love part was hard as WS is/had an EA with his high school sweetheart. I think that he will never really get over her and I am second choice now.

H and I watched the movie last night...it was a good movie for us to watch together. No triggers and supports family and staying faithful...an unpopular choice in Hollywood. H is still struggling with "finding purpose" in his life and our recovery has been rocky even though we are into a year--he has been LBing alot lately so when the best friend character said, "don't ruin the best thing that has ever happened to you, just because you are still looking for yourself,"...H shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Hope he and other WS see the value of family and marriage in achieving happiness in the end.

I thought this was a very good movie. It made me think of how important choices are and what family and love is about. Not that you need a movie for that. And yes it was kinda like Its a Wonderful Life in reverse.
My wife and I saw it while on vacation when she was post EA 4 years ago. She showed affection told me she loved me after this movie 4 yrs ago. I think it did cause her to reflect on her choices.
I highly recommend the movie.
