just finished watching "french kiss" with meg ryan...
great plot.
woman engaged to be married. very serious. together for years. he cheats on her and on a whim, ends their engagement as he's on vacation in paris...meets gorgeous younger woman...and has a fling that turns overnight into another engagement.
xfiance flies to france...
and..
imho, does the perfect 180...(well you could either use the "friend" or not)...
she finds new strength..independence..new attitude..sees new way of looking at life...IMPROVES HERSELF ACCIDENTALLY...and in the process...she gets her ws back.
only to realize..
she doesn't want somebody like him...anymore.
but it's a great movie. to see your changes. to see how imho, either plan B/180 works. honestly, she totally does the 180 at the end of the movie when she "suddenly appears" in paris with kevin kline at her side.
it's hilarious.
will make you think.
and make you rethink.
haven't seen it since I bought the dvd almost 10 years ago..but saw it again tonight.
awesome movie.
and you see sides of the ws...the fog. and how stupid the affairees really are in the end.
favorite quote: kevin kline aka "luc tessiere" is talking to a policeman at the end. he sees "kate"'s xfiancee making up with his affair chick...and proclaims "that is not love".
it's awesome.
you get a little kick knowing that in the end...we end up all better either way. either the ws comes to senses...and we grow and all ends up happily hopefully...or else.
the alternate ending (my ending)
the ws NEVER WAKES UP...and we end up better...and we grow...and I will end up and wake up happy each day...and someday..maybe true love. but I've got all the love I can handle now...my ds and family and friends <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
