Cherished - i can so relate. I had this surgery in spring of 2004...and had no support from my husband afterwards, and fell into depression, and then had my A. I had the complete over haul and had a 6 day hospital stay. I was at the point where mine too were visable all the time, and a pessary no longer helped.

I had turned 27 years old 1 week before my surgery....having this surgery so young just about destroyed who I was.

Here I am now almost 2 years later and life it so much better physically after the surgeries.

Cherished - in my case - due to my age - I was told lifting, as long as I learned how - wouldn't hurt me - that the excersize is better for me. If I was emnopausal and in my 40's I would have restrictions... I will also need surgery again when I hit menopause as things will probably weaken by then. I probably even know the type of surgery as I spent ALOT of time researching and spending time at UPRISE and working with my urogynecologist non stop. I like you saw a specialist that only works on pelvic floors and here in Canada is top in her field.

A good surgeon is the only way to feel normal <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I have been left with a scar from crotch up to bellybutton and lost my uterus (I could have had resuspension tho) but I am full of mesh nad slings and other materials and everything is finally holding.

The best excersize out there for women like us - are Pilates and things like the eliptical machine that is not jarring.

all prolapse repairs done properly are internal - I have mesh all the way up to my tailbone and had a S cathedar out of my belly insision for 2 weeks...pilates is usually recommended to help rebuild pelvic strength as is Yoga. Aerobics is a no-no <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My kids were young too at the time and I had 8-12 weeks recovery...my mom helped me the first 4 weeks when I could barely walk...my MIL came for 4 weeks after that and i was on my own for the last 4 weeks...my age luckily gave me less restrictions. She told me if I was over 40 I would have MAJOR limits...

yep - no jarring, no heavy lifting, etc. I had all those restrictions too and was told I still would if I was older...age is on my side ( i am 28 )

I couldn't imaging having post-op complications like that - luckily I healed well and fast. My bladder was put in a sling..my uterus removed and mesh woven into vaginal walls and suspended from my tailbone, I was sore for months, but doing great now. Luckily here in Canada, it is covered by our public health care - cause what I hear in the states, a urogyn's surgery like this can be upwards of 50,000$!!!!!

I feel soo lucky too - liek I was given my life back - no more ache, no more shafting, no more accidents...at 25 years old it was awful.

I couldn't imagine recovering from this and having my arm broken. I understand your need to hope he will change and need to want the marriage - but hun..I do hope you will see that maybe it is time to let go - for YOU.
