I had this thought a few moments ago...
(I am wearing my Tinkerbell shirt)

The Tinkerbell character is in love with Peter Pan, and he loves her back too...they are companions, but it is never meant to be between them...not the same species...Peter Pan is always looking for another (a mother) someone that will fill the shoes, literally and figuratively that tinkerbell can't fill.

But Tinkerbell sticks around with Peter Pan...why? Because she loves him. She gives, and Peter takes (her pixie dust and the ability to fly) and she gets nothing in return...

So why does she stay? Because Disney wrote her that way, it's like that in the story. So why do OW stay? For various reasons, but because they have convinced themselves they are OK with this situation or they have hope for more...

Or maybe "Tankerbell".

I feel so sorry for those OW...devaluing themselves. Accepting so little in return for their love...

Speaking of Disney and infidelity analogy, the laughing hyenas in The Lion King come to mind as well as they scavenge for any morsel of meat leftover by the evil Scar.

Well, in the book, every time someone says they don't believe in fairies, a fairy dies. Think it'll work if we all start saying we don't believe in OPs?

I have heard that I should feel sorry for the OW. So let me see if I can do it....

HMMMMMMMM....

I'm trying.......

GAG vomit

Nope, can't do it. Maybe when I don't remember that she was my friend and had been in my home and had hugged me and told me that she hoped things work out for my marriage etc, etc, etc... Actually, I think that I might feel sorry for her after I stop breathing and I have no plans on doing that anytime soon.

Sorry. Got a little resentment and rage still going on.

I think my WH is in the process of leaving me (and family) for OW. So that's no joke.
They will go to Neverland and live happily until... reality bites.
Then I will be watching from the first row.

still here

i disagree

in my fairytale...i lived happily ever after with my prince

but in reality, OW is living happily with him now

unlike Tinkerbell....so far,it seems that IT IS meant to be

and the OP DO get something out of an affair...they are selfish and are in it to get something back

It's so funny that we're comparing OW's to tiny creatures....I always called the OW in my case his "keebler elf" much to his dismay, because she's WAY shorter than me and has long stringy, mousy brown hair that her ears stick through.

This, of course, was pre-MB, when I didn't know that WS's take insults to the OP as an insult to them.

My thought is the BS is more like Tinkerbell. He may have thought it someone else was going to be the one. However, I fought for him just as Tinkerbell fought for Peter Pan.

Tinkerbell was there first. She couldn't meet all of his ENs so he went looking for someone else - Wendy.

Wendy came in and Tink was pushed aside. Peter Pan only called on her when he needed the pixie dust.

So, I think Wendy was more the OW and Tinkerbell the BS.

Tink did her best to break them up - I think she skipped plan A and went straight to Plan B. It worked, too. Wendy went home and Tink and Peter Pan were back together in Neverland.

Just my opinion.

I agree MF

Tink was his companion - they weren't split up. Peter obviously wasn't getting certain needs met by Tink and was looking for others.

Along comes Wendy...
