Congratulations! Glad to hear a happy ending to a long distance relationship. I am myself in one for over a year now.
I always wonder when my time will come. Bf is more optimistic than me...he always says that this is not forever.

You know what, I truly appreciate you asking.....I do love him....and he loves me.
When my daughter was in the hospital last year, he flew down and took care of me...saw that I ate. Saw that I slept. Helped me get through it.
When he was unemployed and looking for a job - those pesky buy-outs and lay-offs are annoying - I did all I could to be there for him.
My mom really likes him. My children like him.
Besides, he keeps tellin me I am the one......No plans to trade him in!

The April Fool's! I'm not mean, just sneaky.
After 5 years, the future has been discussed however, no decisions have been made. The road lies before us and we know not where it goes.

You guys win!! April Fool's!! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! The first couple of lines in your post didn't add up! Live with you for a year, support him during that time, then get married.....not the Princess!

You're right, Gail....not me....have enough trouble getting the money spread around right as it is....
Sad thing is, he is anticipating being laid off this spring. That is not in anyone's plan. His employer isn't talking but he is expecting it - even though he did find muliple million$ in profit for the company last year by improving their financial reporting systems.

Why in the world would an employer let him go when he has more than proved his worth?
That's plain crazy but it's a crazy world.
Very OT: Mr. Ragamuffin went to the doctor today, they took an xray and he has a broken toe. He tripped (in the dark) on a Pack & Play (playpen) in our bedroom night before last.

They want his job relocated from the Northeast to southern Florida and he won't relocate. Also, he says they have great disorganization and minimal communication. Right now, he has not been told who his supervisor is since the ineffective one got a promotion.

Ahhhh, now I understand his perception! Job future has got to be a concern, just what he doesn't need!
I've meant to ask, if my memory serves me you are in TN right? A youngin' that worked as our receptionist moved to Franklin last May. She's been asking us to come and visit her. Need to pick a weekend I want no sleep!
Also, the company my hubby works for corporate headquarters are in Nashville with 1 of their 3 distribution centers here in NE.
How is your mom doing?

There is quite a bit to do in Nashville. Our intention was to drive part of the Natchez Trace this weekend but the thunderstorms/tornados/cold snap nixxed that plan.
Country Music Hall of Fame Cheekwood - botanincal gardens & art museum Frist Center for the Visual Arts - some GREAT exhibits right now The Hermitage - home of US President Andrew Jackson - about the 3rd most visited home of former president Lots of historic plantation type homes in the area - Carnton, Belle Meade, Tulip Grove, Rippavilla, Carter House, Traveller's Rest Parthenon - most accurate reproduction of the original Parthenon in Greece (Statue of Athena was, at time constructed, the largest indoor sculpture in the world)
All sorts of cool stuff - but living here, I forget about most of it
My mom is so-so. Sometimes she bothers me - how little she can remember. I pitched an ugly fit a few weeks ago when she was giving me a hard way to go about Gillian. Keep telling her we can talk about it when she gets ready to do so in a therapist's office. And I tell her the therapist is willing to do so.
Last time she went off on me, I told her one of the things the detective told me that Gillian said her cousin had done. I told her I didn't think her 12 year old granddaughter could have enticed him to put money in her panties and tell her she could be his private hooker. Then I walked out and slammed her door behind me. She hasn't brought it up since.

Glad you are ok! Saw on TV that TN was pounded with horrible storms and lives were lost. WOW, what a list off the top of your head! When you live in the sticks you forget all of the things to see and do in "the big city"! Thanks for sharing! Keep telling her we can talk about it when she gets ready to do so in a therapist's office. Good job! It has to be hard to be put on the defense by your own mother regarding your daughter. Hopefully she'll leave it alone in the future. You door slammer you!

Sister won't speak to me. BIL is being manipulative/vengeful (probably thanks to sister). Nephew can't look me in the eye. Mom is blaming me. That leaves my niece.....
Thank goodness for my children.....otherwise, I'd be all alone.
