It is also harmful to a child to talk negatively to them; are you going to compare them to child molesters??? please...it completely invalidates your argument

child molester?????????? talk about flawed comparisons

It was a very valid analogy. Do you GET analogies? I would like to hear your response.

No. That's called child ABUSE.

But equally damning.

No, what is harmful is lying to children. That is NEGATIVE. The truth is positive and facilitates understanding.

And no, he is not saying that a child molestor is the same as an adulterer, and you know it. Please put on your thinking cap and answer his question. Surely, you can GET an analogy?

I'd like it to stop feeling wonderful so I have incentive to do the right thing.

YOU only want to do the right thing when it feels good.

ain't no such guarantee

stopping at the red light is the right thing ... but in my little heart ... I want to speed through the intersection .... STOP SIGN ahead ~~~>>> your family affair hurts everyone you love

need more incentive?

I've got tons

ML, I am an English major. Yes, I get analogies. That is a flawed one. I would be glad to define flawed vs. valid for you, if you like. You are clearly confused!

english major?? so then wtf does your name mean??

oh... and I am beginning to think you a tad young, like in college... maybe an activist type of some sort... stretching your rebellious legs??

I say that because I had a major once.

I have a degree now.

Too bad they don't give out degrees in logic, common sense and morality, huh? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Sfjaj,

Folks here aren't being mean, they are being honest. I am a FWW who was once on the recieving end of some advice that at the time was very hard to take. Since I was being dishonest in my life... in my marriage and with myself... their words were very painful for me to hear. Stop being defensive and start being real with yourself... face your actions as well as those you have hurt and be honest. It will be the hardest thing you have ever done, but so worth it in the end...

If you are use to a false sense of self, learning to be honest is a new skill. I wanted to make my marriage work more than anything, so honesty became my number one priority. Let me tell you something... it is very freeing. Honesty hurts sometimes, but most people will take that over lying and conflict-avoiding any day. Honesty brings people closer together. I've told my husband some things that I thought I would NEVER tell him in the past and guess what? He's still with me and our relationship is growing more intimate and real everyday...

Once you start embracing the truth, you will be a free woman and realize that everyone here is trying to help you, even if it hurts...

Katie
