I woke up at 3:00 a.m. this morning with insomnia, it is sooo rare I get insomnia so I should just consider myself lucky. Of course I did what I shouldn't do...."If I fall asleep now I'll get 3 more hours of sleep....now 2 1/2 more...now 1 more....heck might as well just get up!" I think we all hate that. I just think of all the days, today I need to be on top of game so much and with less than 5 hours of sleep it just isn't going to happen.
Anyway, good morning to any other insomniac.

Newly, I'd say that's very strange.
BTW, I read your thread about the court date during my "non sleep" moment. Have you heard yet?

I suffer chronic insomnia, aggrivated by hyperthyroidism that isn't yet treated. My lifesaver has been St. John's Wort taken at bedtime. After two weeks on it, I slept like a baby for the first time in YEARS. Its worth a shot if you're struggling with sleep.

My mom is on it. Loves what its doing for her. She's sleeping through the night after YEARS of insomnia.

I use Valerian root. And you can take that with most meds, including most ADs

Thanks Anna. I heard back yesterday from the court. No change. His motion was denied. In fact, they just seemed to photocopy the preliminary and handwrite in a new date.
It's frustrating now because X is on a kick to give DD8 herbal medicines. He thinks she's flawed. I think she has an A** for a father which contributes to her anxiety. There's no middle ground.

although I rarely have insomnia, my son has it often I may try some of these suggestions.
Tonight I had a swim meet with older son. it's 10:48 p.m. here and I feel wide a wake after timing for over 4 hours! I have a feeling I may have trouble tonight sleeping.

Full Moon was on 6-11-06. Some say it has no impact on humans. But, it certainly has an effect on tides. And we humans are made up of a lot of water...........

I sleep 6 hours average and wouldn't mind to get insomnia from time to time, to finish all I want for the day.

I am new at the boards. I have been taking Melatona for about 5 years (3 mg)....and it has helped tremendously. I occasionally have those nights where the ceiling looks at me....but not like it used to be. As we age....Melatona depletes from our system....and Melatona is a natural substance in your body. Good Luck.

Well for a person who doesn't get insomnia often, this week is the exception. Twice! I was asleep tonight as soon as my head hit the pillow but my YS woke me up around midnight because he "heard something" now I can't sleep and of course he's snoozing away...

I agree on the Melatonin. Unlike a sleeping pill you don't feel sluggish the next day.
