I’m glad that I’ve found this post as I happen to have stumbled upon the same thing as ohiowife with the online relationship, with my wife, for about a month to a month and a half my wife had actually been having conversations with another man online I found out later that her family knew about it and did nothing to stop it, it turns out he lives in Texas now, but hes told her that he wants to come to town to meet up and to see his son(from another woman). In the past before me and her met they were actually sexually active, which made it a little harder to stomach what I had been reading they used a website myspace and that’s how she located him I didn’t get to see everything they’ve said but I honestly don’t want to if what I did see was bad enough, one of the very first things he had said to her was, he asked if she was happily married I saw this e-mail because I still had her passwords shortly after they all changed and her parents told her I was being controlling and it was none of my business what they talked about so I did the wrong thing and I left for about a week she claimed that I was the one who was wrong with full family support and that they were just friends. I let it go and came back trying to make things better then about a week ago I found out they had still been talking and he would repeatedly make passes at her and say things like you can have me if you want me and other things that I don’t want to get into, so I issued an ultimatum either stop talking with him or I’m gone for good, it took some fighting and she found out that I knew because I was able to find the files and I fear that she’s going to be more careful with the secrecy this time she lives in constant paranoia because she still changes the passwords on her account now and then, (if I don’t have the passwords then what’s the point right?) but she don’t know that I know how to get them today when I came back to house briefly because I had forgotten something I found she had her other program open that she uses too talk to him up and when I came into the room she shut it down and said that she didn’t want me thinking she was talking with him still. the one thing that bothers me is that she refuses absolutely to remove him from her friends list(s) and says if he makes contact shell ignore him, after today I’m not sure if I believe that anymore I am at a dead end and I don’t want to leave as we’ve been having trouble and have little money these days, her parents on the other hand support this behavior and make no qualms about if I want to leave that they’ll support her with full legal support in other words they’ll hire and pay for a lawyer to make sure this marriage is dissolved we have two children together and I really don’t want to loose them I have never once treated her in this way, because I don’t let myself into situations that would lead to this, I feel its highly unreasonable and unfair what I’m going through so I bargain with her which if I read correctly should be done, she claims she’s done nothing wrong and her parents or mother support her on this often taking the other mans side in a way. I no longer know what to do and any kind of advice would be a godsend any other information I could provide I would be more than happy to, thank you

as a follow up I meant to say that you shouldnt bargain, and i dont know how to convince my spouse who does not see anything wrong with the actions because of family members telling her that she didnt do anything wrong because it wasnt physical.

If the roles were reversed do you think her family would be supporting you in the same way? If the roles were reversed do you think your wife would be so accepting of you being in contact behind her back with a former lover?
