I'm having such a hard time today. How the heck do I move on? I'm holding onto the past and it's killing me. The pain is unbearable. The holidays are making things worse.

Each time I have to talk to my attorney, my heart breaks over and over again. Why can't all of this just go away? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking forward to a new chapter since D was finalized on 4/24/07 from WH.

We all only have this moment. Focus on the "right now", because that is all there really is. The past is already gone, and the future is only a promise.

For this one moment, be very still.

Breathe in, breathe out, and know you're alive.

(I actually stole that last line from a song my daughter wrote. It helps me to focus during some of my very hard moments.)

Feel the breathing, and only focus there. Know that this moment is the only moment there is, and that right now, right here, you are okay. You can live in this moment, you can find one thing right now that is good. Look near you, because that one thing is there - find it, and focus on that one good thing, just for this moment.

No matter where you are, when this feeling overwhelms you, do this. Breathe in, breathe out, know you are alive; focus on the one good thing that you see - find it, focus on the one good thing, and know that the one good thing is in this moment, and you are in this moment with that one good thing too, sharing its goodness.

Be still and share the goodness, and bring yourself to a calm point, in goodness, and focus on goodness.

And know that in time, the pain will fade, and loving memories will move in to take its place, memories you will make, memories you will choose.

For now, breathe in.....etc

Lucky to be where I am, in a safe place to get marriage-related support.
Recovered.
Happy.

I am so sorry you are in the place that you are. I am so sorry for the heartache you are feeling. It is such a helpless feeling - I am right there with you although WH and I are currently at a crossroads and divorce could very well be the path we will be heading down soon. My only advice is to just take it one day at a time. Are there by chance any local support groups you could try? Are you seeing a therapist? Many hugs and prayers for you.
