Sugarland's "Stand Back Up" was (is) my power song:

Go ahead and take your best shot
Let 'er rip, give it all you've got
I'm laid out on the floor, but I've been here before
I may stumble, yeah I might fall
Only human, but aren't we all?
I might lose my way, but hear me when I say

I will stand back up
You'll know just the moment when I've had enough
Sometimes, I'm afraid and I don't feel that tough
But I'll stand back up

I've been beaten up and bruised
I've been kicked right off my shoes
Been down on my knees, more times than you'd believe
When the darkness tries to get me
There's a light that just won't let me
It might take my pride, and tears may fill my eyes
But I'll stand back up

I've weathered all these storms
But I just turn them into wind, so I can fly
What don't kill you makes you stronger
When I take my last breath
That's when I'll just give up

So, go ahead and take your best shot
Let 'er rip, give it all you've got
You might win this round, but you can't keep me down

'Cause I'll stand back up
And you'll know just the moment when I've had enough
Sometimes I'm afraid, and I don't feel that tough
But I'll stand back up

You'll know just the moment when I've had enough
Sometimes I'm afraid and I don't feel that tough
But I'll stand back up

It's called "Cheatin" by Sara Evans.

You say your every day
Is a bad dream that keeps repeatin'
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

How do you like that furnished room
The bed, the chair, the table
The TV picture comes and goes
Too bad you don't have cable
How do you like that paper plate
And those pork n beans you're eatin'
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

How do you like that beat up car
I think it's fair we traded
Your pick up truck is running fine
It's a cozy ride for datin'
Yes, I've been out a time or two
And found the comfort Iv'e been needin'
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

You made your bed and you're out of mine
You lie awake and I sleep just fine
You've done your sowing
Now you can do the reaping
Maybe you should
ve thought about that
When you were cheatin'

What became of what's-her-name
After she spent all your money
Did she leave you just like you left me
Sometimes life is funny
But I'll be glad to take you back
Just as soon as I stop breathing
Maybe you should have thought about that
(repeat 2x)
When you were cheatin'
When you were cheatin'

Wave Goodbye

Take your hands off me
I don't belong to you
And take a look at my face for the last time
I never knew you
you never knew me
say hello and wave goodbye

-another part of the song has a part that says something like:

I'm going to find someone who's not gonna cheat,
a nice little housewife
who'll give me the steady life
and not keep running off the rails

"Black Cat" - Janet Jackson

All the lonely nights I spend alone
Never around to love me
You're always gone
Cause you're hangin out
Breakin' the rules
Oh the man has come
Looking for you
You're a rebel now
Don't give a damn
Always carrying on
With the gang
I'm trying to tell you boy
It's a mistake
You won't realize
Til it's too late

Don't understand
Why you insist
On ways of living such a dangerous life
Time after time you stay away
And I just know that you're telling me lies

Black cat
Nine lives
Short days
Long nights
Livin on the edge
Not afraid to die
Heart beat
Real strong
But not
For long
Better watch your step
Or you're gonna die

You're so together boy
But just at a glance
You'll do anything
If given a chance
Scheming, plannin lies
To get what you need
So full of promises
That you never keep

Don't you tell yourself
That it's okay
Sick and tired of
All of your games
And you want me to stay
Better change
Makes no sense to me
Your crazy ways

Black cat
Nine lives
Short days
Long nights
Livin on the edge
Not afraid to die
Heart beat
Real strong
But not
For long
Better watch your step
Or you're gonna die

"If She Would Have Been Faithful" by Chicago - Chicago 18

I was thinking about her
Visiting the past
Reconstructing details with old photographs
Studying the faces
With an objective point of view
Suddenly remembering doesn't haunt me
At the time you couldn't tell me
That one day I'd be glad
That something that I thought was love was misinterpreted
She had another lover- she emphatically denied
But they were doin' me a favor
A blessing in disguise

CHORUS:
If she would have been faithful
If she could have been true
Then I would've been cheated
I would never know real love
I would've missed out on you

I watch you sleeping- your body touchin' me
There's no doubt about it
This is where I want to be
It's so ironic- I had to lose to win
I want to thank her (Thank her again)

CHORUS

Bridge:
It's a paradox- full of contradiction
How I got from there to here
It defies a
Logical explanation

CHORUS

The ? that made recovery possible: "Which lovebuster do I do the most that hurts the worst"?

The statement that signaled my personal recovery and the turning point in our marriage recovery: "I don't need to be married that badly!"

Hank Williams

(Your cheatin' heart will tell on you)
Your cheatin' heart will make you weep
You'll cry and cry and try to sleep
But sleep won't come the whole night through
Your cheatin' heart will tell on you
When tears come down like falling rain
You'll toss around and call my name
You'll walk the floor the way
I do your cheatin' heart will tell on you
When tears come down...
Your cheatin' heart will tell on you

An oldie, but a classic. I was whistling this the whole day the other day, and to my amusement, my WS started to hum the tune to herself (she's too young to know Hank Williams songs)..hahaha. Put a smile on my face.

Rodney Atkins Wasted Whiskey Lyrics

I had every intention of getting hammered here tonight.
I gave my truck keys to the barkeep
Said Dave don't you dare let me drive.
But in the middle of this bottle
I drank my train of thought off track.
So I've gotta stop drinking or start rethinking
my reasoning for throwing 'em back

Cause it's just wasted whiskey
trying to drink you off of my mind
There aint enough bourbon behind this bar
I aint got that kind of time
So I am going to stand while I can
and raise my glass - toast every time you kissed me
Cause drinking to forget about you is wasted whiskey.

So here's to new beginnings and to the memories
and cheers to your momma and daddy
cause they were right about you and me.
and here's to Millsap on the juke box
and to your new friends you found
and here's to our joint account MasterCard
cause I'm buying the whole house a round.

Cause it's just wasted whiskey
trying to drink you off of my mind
There aint enough bourbon behind this bar
I aint got that kind of time
So I am going to stand while I can
and raise my glass - toast every time you kissed me
Cause drinking to forget about you is wasted whiskey.

[INTERLUDE] Here, I'll take another...

It's just wasted whiskey
trying to drink you off my mind
There aint enough bourbon behind this bar
I aint got that kind of time
I am going to stand while I can
and raise my glass -
and toast every single time you ever kissed me.

Cause drinking to forget about you is wasted whiskey.

Cause drinking to forget about you -
well that's just wasted whiskey.

[Spoken] Hey Dave, I think I got me a ride home -
Thanks ol buddy - I'll get my truck tomorrow.
See y'all

"Ain't Wastin' Good Whiskey" - Trick Pony

Well, it's Friday night at the Farmer's Daughter.
But I'm the only one here drinkin' Barley water.
You left me to drown my broken heart.
But this one, I'll get over, well, stone cold sober.

'Cause I don't need "Jose", believe me, honey, I'm ok.
"Jack Daniels" or "Jim Beam" ain't gonna pull me through.
You wasted my time, my heart and my mind too...
I ain't wastin' good whiskey on you.
Ha, ha.

An' I'll admit, we've lived some on the wild side.
We dug our heels in deep an' had a wild ride.
Oh but one good shot of you was all I needed,
So don't set 'em up, Joe, oh no, I'll stick to H2O.

'Cause I don't need "Jose", believe me, honey, I'm ok.
A "Jack Daniels" or a "Jim Beam" ain't gonna pull me through.
An' you wasted my time, my heart and my mind too... (My time.)
I ain't wastin' good whiskey on you.
Ah ha.

[Instrumental Break]
(Oh, I think we need a little help from our friends.)

'Cause I don't need "Jose", believe me, honey, I'm ok.
A "Jack Daniels" or a "Jim Beam" ain't gonna pull me through.
An' you wasted my time, my heart and my mind too...
I ain't wastin' good whiskey on you.
No I ain't wastin' good whiskey on you.
Yee hah.

ITA w/ NC007.

Although I'm not fond of all the lyrics...I do like the POWER behind the message of "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce.

I love singing it outloud!!! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Mmmm to the left
Everything you own in the box to the left
In the closet, thats my stuff
Yes, if I bought it, then please don't touch (don't touch)

And keep talking that mess, thats fine
Could you walk and talk, at the same time?
And its my name thats on that jag
So go move your bags, let me call you a cab

Standing in the front yard, telling me
How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout
How I'll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I could have another you in a minute
Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute (baby)

So go ahead and get gone
Call up that chick, and see if shes home
Oops I bet you thought, that I didn't know
What did you think
I was putting you out for?
Because you was untrue
Rolling her around in the car that I bought you
Baby, drop them keys
Hurry up, before your taxi leaves

Standing in the front yard, telling me
How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout
How I'll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted

So since I'm not your everything
How about I'll be nothing? nothing at all to you (nothing, nothing)
Baby I won't shed a tear for you (I won't shed a tear for you)
I won't lose a wink of sleep (a wink of sleep)
Cause the truth of the matter is (truth is)
Replacing you is so easy

You can pack all your bags we're finished
Cause you made your bed now lay in it
I could have another you by tomorrow
Don't you ever for a second get to thinkin'
You're irreplaceable

I sang that song very loud with great emotion after dd. I even put the ringtone on my cell phone and attached it to my FWS work cell phone, lol.

I also created a cd for FWS, which also had the song on it, lol. A nice reminder of what happens after the affair. lol.

Love the part about her driving around all comfy in his truck and wondering how the cold beans tasted.

Great song....
