Mrs. W
P.S. What color is the prom dress Pep? multi color ... a brown/bronze/with blue ... it's a Nina Austin (I can't find a pix of it on the web) The back of the dress is pretty low cut (but not to the butt valley) and has criscross strappy work, the bodice is a no-ho-deep v-cut, the dress is slim and body hugging not a poofy jobber (I wanted her to go for a ballerina skirt, but she said ... "NO !") ... it's NOT your typical prom dress ... she did not want anything pastel-brides-maid-like from one of the chain prom dress stores like Windsor what I want to know is ~~~> WHO told that child to think for herself ???????? [color:"red"] NO... IT WAS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE NOT MY BIRTHDAY [/color] ~~~ and it worked too .... coz I didn't tell ANYONE Pep

[color:"blue"] FL...
I feel for you regarding missing your Father.
Yesterday, I was standing back, watching the alterations lady putting pins in the dress as the Mouse was standing on this raised floor surrounded by mirrors ... and I missed my Mom so much (she made my prom dress) that I burst into tears ... sending the Nordstroms lady running to get me some water and a tissue ... The Mouse said, ... (softly) ... "Ohhhhhhh Mommy"
and that made it worse (more tears)
You know, those special moments in life that we must be cognizant of ... and -place a little "memory marker" in that place ... I realized that this was the last time I will see something like this until we are looking for wedding dresses .... and I started thinking about how much Mom would enjoy all of this ...
but HEY~!~ I HAD a wonderful Mother, so I am NOT complaining .... my tears were merely homage to her ... and an acknowledgement of how beautiful The Mouse has become....

NOW, thanks for the hugs, but no, not rough, we never really had a relationship, what is there too miss now??
what's up with the name change?? you ok??
Pep, thanks for your thoughts as well, but ditto. i don't believe i said i was missing him. i just made a stmt that he died on 4/1.
however, your post about your daughter, made me think about how old my daughter is getting and that does pull on my heart strings.... we have started looking at colleges for her. she is a jr. 1.5 yrs and she will be off to college. that is going to be rough. but i have a ton of wonderful memory markers with her and i suspect we will continue to have new ones always.
My DH's Dad was a wonderful person and I felt very close to him. I think of him and miss him often. he missed so much of my kids lives. not fair really. espceially since my son didn't really get to know him at all. he died on my daughter's b-day, that was hard to deal with at the time but now, i'll just think of him and miss him on random days, not really on the anniversary of his death.
when i have these random acts of grieving over DH's Dad, i just think how grateful i am to have known him for the amount of time i did. and how grateful i am to have had his love. he is probably the person i would put down as #1 person that loved me immensly and showed it very generously.
like you said, the price one pays for still being alive AND for have been loved makes it much easier to manage.

Is the young man picking her up at the house?
After Mr. Pep gets done with the interogation, make sure you discretely pull the boy aside and let him know that although you would hate to see it happen, Mr. Pep really would not mind getting sent back to prison if it came to that.
That ought to keep the boy on the up and up.

That ought to keep the boy on the up and up. This is her boyfriend. They have been dating a year. Mr Pep did the interogation already ... when they had dated a few times & we were still driving her to the dates instead of allowing her in his car... Mouse was mortified ... boyfriend was duely impressed that this young woman has parents looking out for her ... He's a nice kid. His parents have been married forever. Time will tell. Pep
