Nothing fits into a neat category. My dh and I have been married for 7 years, lived together for six before that. We have a two year old daughter. We've gone though some rough times but I am at the end of my rope right now.
I don't know where to start really. And that's the problem. It feels like we are so different, like he doesn't listen to anything I say.
When I try to talk to him about my feelings about our marriage he either just doesn't say a thing and says he doesn't know what to say, or he gets so upset that the conversation is over because he cries or gets mad at me.
I know that we could use counseling but we can't afford it right now, and we have no one to watch our daughter while we're there. Which is part of our problem too, we have no family around us to help with her and our friends are not the type of people who are good with taking care of children.
I don't know where to start with trying to introduce him to this website. I feel like I am always the one who makes the effort, who reads the books, and I found a book that I thought would be very helpful with some of our problems and he just wouldn't read it.
I know that he knows I'm unhappy and he is too. He is currently sleeping in a separate bedroom from me and I know if I could afford it I would be out of here.
I want to stay together for my daughter but I feel like I'm living with a person I barely know, let alone can understand. I just feel like he has changed so much, he is so unkind, and has no compassion for me. I could be crying my eyes out and he either says nothing and ignores me or sighs and acts like I'm inconviencing him or tells me that I shouldn't be crying about whatever it is.
I don't know what to do. There's a lot more but I don't want to write a novel. Where do you even begin with someone who seems to want to make things better but isn't willing to do any work on it?
