I've noticed lately that sometimes when I select "index" to see a list of the threads, I get a page full of error messages. The first line says something like, "too many connections".... I have to close my browser and wait 5-10 minutes before I can try again. Is this happening to anyone else?

I tried to email Tempest but got an error message back. Justuss? If you're reading, do you know what the problem is?

Thanks!

PM, this program is overloaded and when there are lots of ppl online at the same time, it flips out. This is the biggest forum that UBB has ever managed, per Steve Harley. It happens all the time to everyone else.

It happens to me too.

My guess is that the forum or PHP itself is leaking memory and eventually crashes, then starts the process off once again.

Justuss, I suggest inquiring into if the latest version of UBB and the latest version of PHP is loaded on your server. (mySQL as well, if the forum is using that to store content). A simple update / upgrade may fix the problem.

Thanks Melody, I thought it was me. I was deleting cookies, history and everything else I could think of. Maybe it's time for a new host if UBB can't handle it anymore.

edited cause I type faster than I think or think faster than I type-- whatever LOL

I also had the thought that trolls could be bombing the site since it seems we've been invaded lately. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

I see it a lot too - usually preceded by really long delays in connecting and getting content. It happens at least every couple days or so.

It's not the recent troll invasion; I've been seeing it off and on for 6+ months.
