It is probably a good idea for both partners to get tested before entering into a relationship. But, nowadays, who does that?

If my WH comes to his senses I will tell him to get tested, and if we get a divorce and I decide to marry again...that man will have to be tested, too. I've made a choice to remain celibate until my husband and I reconcile or until I remarry.

It takes less than a minute to contract HIV.

What if he turn out to have a STD? Would you divorce him? Would you cancel the engagement?

In some countries, I think it's a requirement for people to get blood tested before a marriage license is issued. I think testing should be definately done after an affair has occured. People who are willing to participate in affairs are most likely to get involved with risky sexual behaviors.

This thread just can't be bumped enough.

To all BSs: PROTECT YOURSELF! The threat of an STD is very real, don't think it couldn't happen to you!

I wonder how many percentage of BS take their cheating spouses back without doing any type of STD testing.
