Thanks! I hope our library has it. I'm trying not to buy books anymore. Been using the library a lot! GB is down there already! I'm getting scared about the job sitch in that city. It is very bad, and still no opening there within my company. But still, I am scheduled to go in April! Might end up waitressing, but at least I won't have to clean the snow and ice off my car afterwards! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

That's a pretty place. I don't know if I could visit it, though. I'd probably start attacking the walls, breaking windows, throwing vases. No just kidding.
Was your DH able to find written family records and histories?
If you do decide to research yours, I wish you lots of good luck. It would be quite the emotional as well as laborious undertaking, I would think.

You can go ahead and delete now if you want. It is more than fascninating Mimi, it is incredible. It's unbelieveble, the beauty and the strength. I am not in anyway trying ot romaticize the atrocity...but that there is this culture of people who survived, and who will I believe very strongly one day soon, thrive and flourish with their culture intact and rebuilt, despite what was done to them. I mean look what has been accomplished in a mere one hundred or so years. Amazing!

I was telling 2long and the campfire people, and perhaps Mel, about this book I have of slave interviews and stories told by former slaves to the interviewers...wow.
Something has just come up at work. But one day, I will give you this book to read, although I am sure it is nothing you haven't read before.
