My marriage has been struggling, so I started searching online for how to "fix it". I came across this site. And according to this site, the expectations and responsibilities of being married are a LOT more extreme and demanding that I expected. I've been married almost 2 years, but after all the struggles and arguing and reading some of the stuff on this site, I'm not sure I want to be married anymore. I don't know what to do. Am I missing something?

Welcome, No1...

Hope it's okay to abbreviate your screen name that way...I like it.

Would you consider you only recently discovered what marriage takes...so that you have further to go to realize what it gives?

For instance, it takes two to argue...so if you stop participating in arguments and instead negotiate, then you may feel more rewards than you've previously experienced?

Same for conflict and struggling...learning that we connect through conflict...Harley writes about the three states of marriage...Intimacy, Conflict and Withdrawal...minding which one you are in, knowing which one you want to be in...setting your own goals...reaping benefits to your own focus?

How marriage can be the ultimate fun in your life? Lots more to experience from those vows you made to yourself on your wedding day...facing the great unknown...you charted it with "Whatever comes, I will..."

I believe the more you study and learn about marriage, the more you'll see the whole of it...and right now, you've experienced a lot of the hard parts...sometimes harder from unreasonable expectations (like love should make it easy, naturally respectful and smooth)...

Would you be willing to keep posting to see all of it, rather than making your decision based on very limited information?

Thank you for not deciding blindly, from your feelings. It's marvelous you asked, questioned first. Very brave and aware in my book.

LA
