yesterday we moved her to inpatient hospice after my husbands dad called in tears saying he couldn't do it anymore and that things were unsafe...
he now wrestles with the fact that he promised her once he brought her home he wouldn't make her go any where else...
though she in her mind is already somewhere else....
this evening I will take my children to say goodbye for the last time......
this cancer, multiple myloma' is an insidious bugger and has captured her just shy of a year of diagnosis..
the worst is she has no faith...
there is no peace for her
there is no reckoning
my husbands heart is heavy and there were no words of comfort that she could hear or understand.....though he would talk quietly for hours with her....
she chose not to believe....
she only saw herself as a goner....
so so so sad....
sorry to burdon this site with this off topic tripe....
I think I am just sleep deprived and sad down to my marrow.....

I went through that (not with cancer) but watching my FIL die in a few days after an infection ravished his body. It doesn't matter if she has faith or not - she can still find peace. Your prayers can help her find peace. I'm so sorry - there are never enough words to say in a situation like this. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Having someone die is hard enough, having them die at home is even harder for the family, anyway. Please tell your FIL it was not about a broken promise, but about him being wise enough to ask for help when he needed it.

but that whole thing about free will...ya know...that thing that I find so important to the whole faith thing...
an omnipotent power to make people believe ....
to make people adore and love you...
and the gift of freedom to choose....
to me that almost seals the deal of proving the existance of God
in and of itself....
the pure brilliance of that
I hope that somewhere inside she chose well
for her sake
for my husbands peace of mind
for her husbands sake who will only see this whole process of passing as Godless as well
the prayers are fast and furious at times....

Dear Ark
I won't toss you a bone regarding your MILs salvation. If she rejected God's message, well, God doesn't force anybody to join him in glory. You can only have peace that it is your MILs choice of destiny.
I can only say that none of us can know the state of her soul right now but God and your MIL herself. If she has not chosen to have her name crossed out of the book of life you will meet her again in Glory.
I pray that God will send his Comforter to minister to MIL, to your H , to you and all who are sad as your MILs time on earth ends.
Thank you Almighty Father God for the good woven into this world by MIL during her time gracing it, Lord and hear our prayer that you look upon this sister with Mercy and Grace that she may chose Glory as her destiny.

Until she passes, all things are possible for God.
Regardless, God will be there to comfort those who know Him and have the indwelling Holy Spirit.
