This site, is full of people salvaging marriages and families.
If it was a cult, there is some major work to be done, I for one have not seen any kind of uniform and there is no kool-aid served here.
I prefer to think of MB as the equivalent of AA for marriages that need salvaging or just enrichment.

You see,

What you are doing now is just a imitation of the same stage play my wife and I went through ten years ago.
Like a remake of a classic (Godzilla, Batman, Psycho, Invasion of the body snatchers).
Same story, just different actors with a little tweaking.
All of us are actors in the same story as you. (Personally I think I make a better BH then Mogrod) I had the sniveling crying part down real good.
