First, if she is so "anti-affairs", why is she joining the Mc"too many affairs to count"Cain ticket? Second, I think this particular firing has much less to do with Mr. Bitney having an affair, and much more with the affair being with Ms. Palin's close friend. Her repeated firings of others based on personal or ideological disagreements and vendettas is bothersome to me. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article4692408.eceI see Ms. Palin as one mean and vindictive lady, which I do not consider to be praiseworthy qualities. Hello Folks:
So far this thread is fine. But if the Mods see this political discussion heading to the toilet in terms of disrespect of one another, IT WILL BE LOCKED. Guaranteed with no hesitation.
Thank you.

That's why I've been avoiding all of these threads... I was a long time poster on a fly fishing newsgroup that had guys that had fished together and gotten together off and on for many years. The election 4 years ago changed all of that. They speak to each other now only to take issue with what the other has said or to slam each other personally. You think these forums get intolerant and disrespectful, you should see what happens on those with no moderators... :twobyfour: :MrEEk: When it comes to politics, almost nobody can defend their position without attacking the other side... Politics makes folks nuttier than religion IMO. :crosseyedcrazy: Mark

I agree 100% Mark. They inevitably end in tears and hard feelings.
It's not like there aren't plenty of political discussion sites.
Noone here is likely to change their minds from what I have seen.
These threads are a distraction from Marriage Building - it's not like there's a shortage of people on GQII needing help.

Noone here is likely to change their minds from what I have seen. I agree completely. People usually end up listening to what reinforces their already-held beliefs, and resist or filter out opposite points of view. The thing that I find depressing with present day politics is how personal it has become; all the focus seems to be on who slung the latest bit of mud, who insulted whom, who had a good comeback, who hit a new low, who is charming, who went to what church and why, etc etc... And so little time is devoted to the real issues affecting the country. Sad. AGG

I could swear I heard she appointed a childhood friend to be the director of Alaska's agriculture department because, as a child, this person had liked cows. Now, I know that sounds like I made it up - but I didn't. The person had no background in ag - just liked cows when they were a child.

I think thats wonderful if that's the worse that The New York PRAVDA Times can dig up on Palin. Palin's value just went up in my estimation. I did note in the article [that I already read and thought amusing] that they failed to note what Ms Havemeister's qualifications ARE or the CONTEXT in which her "love of cows" was couched. The NY Times has a leeetle problem with context, honesty and accuracy that often borders on journalistic FRAUD when it comes to their political opponents. The Times is a political gossip sheet, in other words. I did get a kick out of the article, though. Reviewed here

Might want to check your sources, he wasn't SP's pastor, he a visiting priest from Africa. Apparently, he comes from a place in the world where they believe in witchcraft. Not sure what you or MSNBC wanted her to do... run screaming from the altar when he mentioned it rather than have stood there politely and waited for him to finish?

There is no reason to like Sarah Palin, unless you base your vote on a candidate's insults and jokes.
At the Republican convention, she said nothing of substance. Since she was selected by McCain, she's done 2 interviews. Biden has done dozens, the last I heard.
That is because if she does interviews, she will be exposed as a complete fraud. The 20/20 interview showed that quite clearly.
I agree that her family should be off-limits, so long as she stops the "Strategically Placed Retarded Baby" routine every time we see her. There are also rumors that Trig isn't even her baby, but those are unfounded so far.
You may like the way she looks, or you might like the way she tells the jokes that others have written for her, but you can't possibly like her for political stances because outside of abortion, nobody knows what those stances are.

I'd say that Palin is a zero, but that's giving her too much credit.
She still thinks she has foreign policy experience because Putin comes close to Alaska when he flies... LMAO...

some see her as being a breath of fresh air....including Hillary Clintons major campaign contributor who is now supposting McCain/Palin. Her exact words were that Biden is a loose cannon and Obama is arrogant.

That really makes her a loose cannon. Some conservative commentators actually think she should drop out: Palin Problem

Hmmmm...a major Clinton campaign contributor having negative things to say about the candidate who knocked her out of the running? Really? What a shock. She'd probably vote for anything, **edit** That, or maybe she doesn't care for black people. Who knows?
