He only endorsed him because of the racial pressure.
You'd have something if Newt endorsed him, but as usual you got nothin. Yep.... Powell ultimately was distressed over what he saw as growing divisiveness in the country and a return to "the vitriol and bigotry and prejudice" of the 1960s. How can any of you say that his endorsement of Obama ISN'T about RACE??? Kid yourself all you want, but it ALL comes back to RACE!!

It will be your turn to be a slave to see what it feels like. Yeah...the poor guy will have to live off his wife's income when it's 2% less than it was before. A slave? I didn't realize Obama's tax plan could take a household from "more than 250k" to slavery. Irrationally paranoid much?

Tell ya what...I'll take the $250,000 and pay %40 tax on it, & you can work for McDonald's and pay nothing.
Stop being a bad American and be happy that you are able to contribute significantly to your country, while still living better than most. His wife EARNED her success. You know, studied for years at the chance of failure. If one is so lazy that they flunk out of high school and squirt out welfare babies and are too illiterate to say "would you like fries with that", they deserve the poverty they have earned themselves.

So after all of her hard work and dedication, it's all going to come crashing down if her taxes go up 2%? Maybe being a surgeon isn't all it's cracked up to be...

see, what these socialist fools fail to realize...and yes, suggesting a redistribution of wealth is socialism...is that the people making a lot of money are going to revolt by cutting employees and raising prices.
anybody here remember the mortgage rates during Carter's administration.
Personally, I would benefit from these fools...I make substantially less than what Obama sees as wealthy...yet I KNOW he is sending us down the wrong path. Redistribution of wealth. Friggin losers looking for more handouts...no incentive to work.

All these cries of "Socialism" are absolutely ridiculous. A 2% tax increase hardly constitutes Socialism. A big news flash for all of you that are using this lame duck excuse, the GOP, President Bush, Bernanke, and Paulson have already perpetrated the greatest act of Socialism against any country since World War II. NATIONALIZING BANKS!
And then there's that little FACT that John McCain, for the first time in HISTORY, is going to tax your Health Care costs. Not some paltry 2% increase, but at the same rate that the rest of your income is taxed.

It's time to re-redistribute that money back to the people it was taken from in the first place. Welfare has always been a tiny fraction of government expendature. Try crying about a real expense, like the defense budget.

What would you suggest we do? Obviously, what we have been doing for the past 8 years hasn't worked or we wouldn't be $10 trillion in debt. Pretending that the increase is going to go straight to people on welfare is very narrow minded. I agree that I hate to see people get something for nothing but that is not the objective. The point is to elevate the level of the middle class for the better of the country. If the middle class is doing well, the economy will rise through consumption and new business being created.

So what's "wealthy"?
My wife put herself through medical school. I worked my way through school too. Worked nights in the restaurant industry Many late nights studying along with late nights working for very little. Earning the right to our success and the ability to put our daughters through medical school.
Soon we can retire and live comfortably. All from hard work and dedication to our end goals in life.
If we can do this, anyone can. I came from a poor family in the Pacific Northwest. My wife is of Nasai Japanese parents, interned during WWII.(try and get her to vote Democrat)
No, no communist is going to demand we give up more our hard earned money.

Funny, I NEVER looked at my employer as taking things from me...I looked like they were GIVING me the chance to earn a living. Silly me. In theory I agree with the statement, but it is extreme. My plan would be to start with the top down. Corporations hide over $200 billion overseas every year to avoid paying taxes. On paper, supposedly the corporate taxes are some of the highest in the world, but the fact is after the lawyers are done finding loopholes they end up paying less than most countries. I say first we need to hold them accountable. Then, move down the line as neccessary to find a balance in the system. The way I see it - is that you are going to receive a tax cut which will raise your income. This saved up income gives you an opportunity to start your own business or you spend this money on assets. How is that not beneficial to the economy and therefore the country? Do I want to see people get more handouts...no, but at the same time, I think our best chance of getting out of the hole this country is in is to elevate the middle class. Want2Stay
