Guys,

I encourage you to read Mortarman's thread. He's a success story in that he got his WW to return and things looked as hopeless for him in the beginning as they lood for most of you.

He kept his wits and did the things which many of you, including myself when I was in your shoes, did to make sure his rights as a father were protected.

It was in the fight for his children that he was able to lift the fog of the WW.

So read his first post and follow his thread and learn from his actions about how hard it is to do the things that need to be done to keep your rights as a father and get your wife back as a side benefit.

She moved away with the kids April 08. I contested it and got a lot more time with my kids. She's unhappy that I want to stay involved in their lives and don't settle for being an "every other weekend" dad.

Never going to happen.

Where is it you go to find out such rights? My uncle is in a situation where his ex-girlfriend is withholding his son from him.

I'm in Virginia by the way.

(They are both drunks, I KNOW he has a record, but still)

One year becomes two, two years becomes five, five becomes ten and before you know it, you've wasted your whole life on a problem you can't solve. That's one way to spend your life. -rwinger

Those rights exist in every state, but they're really there for any father who truly wishes to be a part of his children's lives and not those who think it's too big an elephant to take down. They have to be willing to fight the fight.

Honestly, I really think it merely takes asking for an order to let you see your children regularly and setting your life up to make it happen for a judge to grant it.

I don't think it requires all the mud slinging that these fights turn into.

I think Judges want to see parents who care and respect it when someone comes and simply asks to see their children.
