From another thread .....

Quote
So, allow me to answer you by quoting Pep from one of her posts on this very thread:

“Quite frankly, if there had been two, I would have stayed until our youngest was graduated from high school and then divorced him.

That is possibly your husband's plan. It would be mine if I were in his shoes.”

Add to that a quote from one of my own posts in this same thread:

“Think long term severely abused wife receiving advice on how to prepare to get away from her abuser, with her children, and not be followed. It takes time and planning and setting some minimal emergency resources aside. It takes creating a place to go to. She better play that close to her chest or even those slim chances at rescue and salvation will be foiled.”

If you care to think on these two quotes for a moment you should be able to get reasonably close to identifying my primary intentions and my objectives. Not my reasoning, of course, but perhaps my goals.

As I understand this, your long term goal is to escape ... eventually.

What is your approximate time line?

I have a follow up question after know your approximate time line.

Two-and-a-half years, give or take. Several useful and significant things will come together at that time.

‘course, the feces might impact the rotating vanes at any time…

Ok- here is my follow up question.

Are you in danger of falling back in love with her while the clock is ticking?

How did I know that would be your question?

I don’t know. I don’t want to. I am making an effort to prevent it. I’d be a fool.

I think I have changed too much.

I did not want to either. I fell back in love with Mr Pep kicking and screaming ! rant2

Like what? The only effort that works is preventing her from meeting most of your ENs. That's what happened to me. Mr Pep deliberately met my needs with no payoff - as he was instructed by our counselor (a former priest who was himself happily married).

OT: Pep, have you ever read books by Sigrid Undset? She converted to Catholicism. I've read Kristen Lavransdatter and am about to finish the forth book in her Master of Hestviken tetralogy (written between 1925-1927). I think you'd love her books as I have. She was awarded the Nobel prize for literature in 1928. (I mentioned this because I also loved Pride and Prejudice)

Correct me if I am wrong, but sometimes your job is easing passages, not erasing time.
