A friend of mine went as a cook on a research vessel, and went SCUBA diving to Antartica - the video was absolutely gorgeous - stunningly beautiful. Too cold for me though.

You know, now is the time to fly. My ticket cost me a third of what I usually pay to go to Seattle.

I hope someone takes a camera to the climb so we can see pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!

You had mentioned you'll probably not be bringing your computers to The States. I wouldn't worry about it. If you need to use a computer, there a many about in Seattle -- Internet cafes, coffee shops, hotel lobbies... We are the land of Microsoft, after all.

I spent an hour with Flick and Lil at the airport today while they were waiting to board their plane to San Fran.

They are a couple of sweeties. Lil is just like you imagine her - sweet and chatty and much prettier than her photos, lol. Flick was very quiet.

It was lovely meeting them. They are a very nice couple.

Um, as far as details, there aint none, but you know where I am at.

It's a bit of everything (sun, snow/rain, clouds, wind) depending on where you are.

I hope Mount Rainier makes an appearance for them.

I looked at the weather cam this morning and saw raindrops on the lens. Now it looks better.

My mom will have her pink hat on to hide her no hair, my son looks just like me, and my sis as tons of long curly brown hair.

So, any news? Did Flick make it all the way to the top?

Looking4, Queenie and I were there with Lil. We didn't have a definite time for his climb so we all hung out in the lobby for a long time and had time to chat. It was good. By the time Flick was ready to start with the rest of the Kiwis it was about 2:15.

I had to head home after he got in line to head up the tower. I don't know how Flick did so I'm hoping one of the other MB'rs can fill you in.

We did look for your mom.

There was a little snow flurry during our wait and we went out in it. The weather was cold but there was lots of blue sky.

Sorry I don't have more information. Hopefully there will be an update.

Glad to hear something. My mom, sis and son went. And my mom taped it on TV. She is saving it till I get up there.

BTW-they did get to see Mount Rainier from the Space Needle I think.

I don't want to take away any of Flick's thunder so he can post the details of his day, but I can share with you that everyone in their Kiwi brigade made it up. It was quite the sight seeing 1,500 firefighters with all of their gear, hanging around and getting ready for the climb. It was awesome, actually.

It was a great way to spend the day. We spent very little time with Flick, as he had to stay in the staging area for the several hours they had to wait before the climb, but us ladies had great conversation and I felt so honored to be in Queenie's, Lil's, and JohnsTwin's company. Beautiful women with beautiful hearts and beautiful minds. I felt fortunate to be among them today.

Sorry you weren't with us, JT, when Lil, Q, and I were at lunch. The table next to us got quite an earful. Probably the most captivating conversation they've ever heard in a restaurant. I also burst Lil's bubble and she got to hear me swear. Oops. Now she knows!

I hope Lil and Flick are enjoying their evening tonight. I encouraged Lil to stay up all night and just sleep for the couple of hours on the plane when they leave in the morning. Probably not a great idea to be too tired though, considering they're going to be shooting guns tomorrow.

I've been checking all day to see if Flick made it up... he's a strong guy, so I think he must've.
Tomorrow will be busy gathering them from LAX and going shooting!

Isn't Lil a sweetie? I was surprised by how tiny she is. Short, lol, and so slim. When she said in the post above that I looked much younger than my age - when she told me that IRL she got it all the wrong way round and said I looked much older than my age. Even Flick thought that was funny!!!!!

I think her exact words were "you look so much older than you really are." I said "thank you" and Flick got the giggles. Then she said "no, I meant to say you look much older than you really are". It just got worse and worse. lol.
