To make a long story short, I had an affair, it was discovered in August and the man is no longer in my life. My husband and I are staying together. I have went to counseling and everyday work on my issues. I am having trouble with knowing how to get back into the lives of my in-laws. I am not allowed at their house, etc. I have written an apology letter, but so far they have ignored it. Any suggestions?

You have shattered their trust as well. The best way to get back in their lives is to continue to work through your personal and marital issues. Their concern is for his happiness, as it should be. When they are convinced that he is happy he made the choice to stay in the marriage they are more likely to allow you to back at family gatherings.
