Okay, gotta share this. On the trip back from DC, we ALL had to use the loo and I kid you not, we drove through a town called Bucksnort, Tenn.
Now if you live in Bucksnort, Tennessee, you might just be a red neck.
We were gonna stop at that town to use the facilities but we heard banjoes playing so we hurried right out of there.
Also, we crossed over Loosahatchie River.
I was wondering how one would come up with such a name, and I think I figured it out.
It's called Loosahatchie because that's what happens when you park your 72 Pinto on the river bank at low tide, proceed to imbibe too many tall boys and when you wake up at high tide, the vehicle is gone.
You done Lostyerhatchie.
I never had to take the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?O'hana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. My Story Recovered!

If you live in Clinton, TN, you might be a redneck... A person once told me that the town motto is - "Daddy get off me...you're crushin' my cigarette."

I guess that a couple living in Polar, Texas would be Bi-Polar...or people who drive or live in the vacinity would be by-polar.

Waxahachie is pronounced two ways: Waaaaax-a-ha-che (said with a wrinkled up nose) if you're a native. and Whots-a-ha-she (said with your nose in the air) if you're not.

OMG @ Clinton, TN. That is so close to my hometown!
I've not heard that one before!

I've worked really hard not to be distressed by the Bucksnort stuff. I know...I know....I can be touchy and I don't take well to being teased. At book club last night, we were talking about prejudice. One of the things we talked about was that, as Southerners, we feel that we are looked on as shoeless, illiterate rednecks. Bucksnort is sort of just down the highway from my home....let's say an hour or so.

Depending on your route from D.C. to Bucksnort, you may have driven within a mile of my house and within 3 miles of my office.

Cinderella I understand. I am from Calgary, the redneck capitol of Canada. Or so we are made out to be.
Truth be told, we have a huge rodeo each year, have had since 1918 or so and that is the image most of Canada has of us. Not as a city of a million people with great museams, a world class Zoo, former host of the 88 Olympics. They see us as a bunch of horse riding cowboys.
