Oh, yeah... Thanks for reminding me. I have to call the jeweler.

We chose a new stone. It's a full carat (equivalent because sapphires aren't sized and weighted like diamonds), compared to the first one which was .61 carats equiv. The jeweler sent us pics of the ring and the new stone side by side so that we could compare directly. Jill also photoshopped the new stone onto the band and it's perfect. The price difference really wasn't bad -at all-. I was hoping to get it back from them today. I need to call since they haven't reached me yet with a tracking number.

Pics will be forthcoming as soon as it arrives. smile

Please take note of the changed thread title.

I just spoke to the jeweler. The ring is going out in the FedEx bag tonight and will be delivered to a FedEx store by my house tomorrow. I can't take delivery at home because no one will be there to sign for it.

Tonight, I will stop by her house when she's not there and pack up a secret overnight bag for her. I will also stop and get a bottle of champagne and strawberries to be stashed in my fridge at home.

Jill and I will be getting back into town from our training ride sometime during the middle of the afternoon. We will be sore and exhausted. We will drop off the bikes and, after sneaking the chilled champagne and strawberries into my car, head straight to the FedEx place to pick up the ring. She said that she wants to go with me to pick it up as long as I don't actually propose to her there. LOL!

Instead of heading back to the house, I am going to take her to the Hotel Icon where I have reserved a Superior King room; king sized bed, jacuzzi tub, separate glassed-in shower... You can see where this is going. She won't know what's up until we get there. wink

I'm thinking that a nice long soak in an over-sized jacuzzi tub after our training ride will be just the ticket. I'll present the ring to her then.

Thoughts? Am I missing anything?

I sent a pic of the one I want to my WBF...no we're not engaged yet, but thanks to a very long talk this past weekend I'm certain that's where we are headed. Never though this would happen to me...wow...God is good!

Well, the ring didn't show up on Saturday as hoped, but because of our schedules and other logistics, I just had to carry through the with The Plan anyway. We had a wonderful weekend, and the hotel was fabulous. She also bought dinner at the hotel restaurant which actually ended up costing more than the room. LOL! I still took care of the tip. When it was all said and done, I think we basically split the costs.

I like where things are going. wink

Anyway, I got the call from FedEx this morning that the ring is at the Kinko's/ FedEx store by my house. So I'll pick it up after work and give it to her when she gets to my house.

We're now officially engaged. Once again, there is life after divorce. smile

Thanks Mo! smile

Here are a couple of pics of the ring on her hand. They changed the mount when they put the new stone in, and Jill isn't sure if she likes it to not. She prefers the kind that actually, um... "clips" over the corners of the ring. Don't know why they changed to this more "boxed" version. It shows the stone better from a top-down view, but covers more from the sides. I told her that we could get it remounted if she wants. Anyway, they're not great pics. We had a hard time with the lighting and the focus. If we get some better ones, I'll put them up. But for now, this will give you all an idea. smile
