After a marathon of watching this series, I've realized--isn't Gomez what many of us women want?
What women would not want a man who is so entranced by her, so in love with her that other women never cross his mind?
Are there any other such good examples in the art of husbandhood in television? Or have they gone to bits?
One year becomes two, two years becomes five, five becomes ten and before you know it, you've wasted your whole life on a problem you can't solve. That's one way to spend your life. -rwinger

Nothing to do with the body and I agree. I always loved that he was all over her.
Another contender. My boss. He took Monday off to have a "husband and wife" day. He went to see "Julie and Julia" with his wife because she really wanted to see it. He said he spent the movie with his hand on his wife's tummy, feeling the baby kick. Then they went to lunch and then picked up their two older daughters from school to give them a surprise.
The way his face lit up when he talked about his wife and his soon to be born baby and his little girls made me very, very happy.

I also love that the movie, the name of which I can't remember, playing now with a husband and wife having a baby has had rave reviews and most of the reviews say the love between the couple is refreshing, lovely and makes you feel warm all over.
Every review I've read has said "Thank God, a couple who are really in love and it shows."

I like this thread. After having all of Hollywood thrown in our faces all the time, it's refreshing to read about the other side or "the rest of the story", as Paul Harvey would have said.
I have a friend whose husband is from Dublin and knows Ali Hewson. He says that she claims he has always been faithful, despite the fact she's kicked him out several times for other reasons (drinking, most likely). If this is true, it's impressive, considering how women throw themselves at him 24/7.
It's depressing I can't think of anyone else. And even more depressing that I have to agree with Kiwi about Obama and I can't stand that man!

I know it's only a TV show, but to take it a bit further, the entire family was intact and seemed to have healthy relationships with each other, their weirdness notwithstanding. Mother and Father crazy-in-love with each other. Extended family support. Loving relationships with the kids.

Just say things like "Il me perce comme un poingard " and "Oui" and "Oui, mon amour" or "Mon sauvage"  I would but Aussie would probably just say something like "Struth woman, hav' you been watchin' those foreign films on SBS again?"

Did they LB each other? Not that I ever saw.
Again, I know it's only a TV show, but when you see what they throw out there for 'role model' crap today, this really was a LOT healthier for the kids to see!

My H is a voice teacher, so I'd have to make sure I learned to pronounce French correctly first! Ha! If I want him to kiss me like Gomez all I have to do is wash the dishes AND my H doesn't have that annoying mustache.
