I was thinking of buying one of the Harley books for a friend for Christmas. If you could only pick one book to give, which one would you recomend?

Assuming there is no affair to recover from, Fall In Love Stay In Love combines the best of HNHN and Love Busters into a single unified DIY manual.
If already familiar with Dr Harley's basic concepts, then go with Defending Traditional Marriage.
If newly weds then I Promise You.
That's the ones I have given and will continue giving...

I agree with Fall in Love, Stay in Love.

My favorite "Cultivating Bitterness for the BS". I co-authored it. To which BS are you referring? I do think bitterness gets a bad rap. It can be very sweet, at times. Plus, it is about as normal a response as a BS can have(for a while). I love it when, on some other board, a BS gets accused of being "bitter", as if that is really messed up. Well, Duh? Do you think ...?

I think actually that the three books - "Defending Traditional Marriage", "Buyers, Renters, Freeloaders" and "Fall in Love, Stay in Love" give readers a glimpse of Dr Harley's full philosophy of marriage. Only by reading all three can you see how complete his plan is and how much clarity he has when he writes.

Thanks BigK for getting us back on track. For all those kidding around, focus people, focus! There's no place for fun in marriage building.
