Have you ever heard of alanon? It is a 12 step program for families and friends of alcoholics and may be a very good place for you to start.
The practical wisdom on this site pretty much states that until recovery from addiction is well underway, the MB program can't really take hold.
It's important for us to realize that we are responsible ONLY FOR OURSELVES . . . our actions, reactions, behaviors, habits and attitudes. We are not responsible for the actions and attitudes of others. You are not responsible for your husband's crazy threats. You ARE responsible for protecting your life and the lives of your children. You didn't cause him to drink, you can't control it, and you can't cure it. MB can't cure it.
