This story is so upsetting. I'm waiting for the backstory to come out...the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say.

What caused this young man to snap? Did he snap or was he always prone to violence? Was he someone who slipped through the cracks of the legal system? Given special treatment because he was an athlete? Could the University have done something to prevent this?

I don't have any answers. I'm just grieving for the loss of two lives: the beautiful and talented Yeardley Love and the wasted life and potential of George Hughely (sp).

Very Sad.

They have recently started a TV advertising campaign over here targetting that age group to raise awareness of domestic violence and to let youngsters know that it isn't "normal" or "acceptable"

There should be a really "special" place in prison for abusers. I have a couple of friends who have endured domestic violence, and it is heartbreaking to watch. Of course, one friend's church told her to forgive and try harder to "submit." Don't even get me started.

"..........."?????

That "comment" of mine above is me being at a complete loss of words after reading what you said. Seriously, I don't even know "what" to say.

Forgive and try harder to "submit?" Unbelievable, why would anyone even want to do that?

Thanx to MB my M is now back on track and better than ever. MB ROCKS!!!

Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.
