Anyone interested in taking a poll that Al cheated? I hate that I have become such a cynical person since my DH had an A. I used to see the good in everyone, now everyone's a suspect in my eyes. I am getting better though.

My best friend's friend used to ride horses and sort of dated one of the Gore's daughters back when he was VP. He said that Al was actually very funny and laid back, and would spend a lot of time hanging out with them - basically he is really the complete opposite of his public persona. I dont recall him ever mentioning Tipper.

Yet it seems to follow. There are no facts presented here, only speculation, and that speculation is there's something wrong with Al's behavior, and not his speaking or political positions. The assumption is that he's causing problems, acting out or whatever. That may be true, it may not. But the first assumption is to blame him. I say it tongue in cheek, yet I was called a misogynist in the past 24 hours for pointing out that most men who are divorced, according to Dr H, are not men who are cheaters, or abusers, contrary to what those who peddle stereotypes would have us believe. Apparently, refusing to believe that men are perpetrators and women are victims makes me a misogynist.

And Tipper appears to be the most grounded of the the two. *shrug* From my experience on these boards, I think if a woman is going to have an affair and leave the marriage, it is going to happen before she's 61. Now, Al is a big, powerful political figure who I'm sure attracts his fair share of younger, political groupies (aka Rielle Hunter) looking for financial security. I'm not saying the men are more to blame than women, I'm just saying that rich, older men have more options. Tipper will probably get a nice financial settlement to keep her mouth shut. Luckily with the gossip reporting these days, we'll probably find out who strayed.
