over here we say football is a gentelman's game played by thugs and that rugby is a thugs game played by gentelman.
Funny that American football should be more like rugby

I'm sorry to see the USA out of the championship.
Please can someone remember to say the equivalent thing to me tomorrow night?

I'm sorry SugarCane.
But I honestly don't think they were as bad as the pundits make out.
Certainly need to do away with the man in charge though.
DS was inspired: He took all the buckets and pots out of the sandpit and used them as defenders to keep his sister out of the box (him being keeper). Those buckets certainly did a better job than the England team in defence!!

I cannot believe that with all those chances that we could not get a 2nd or 3rd goal. If Bradley had taken just one more touch on the ball, he could have put that ball in the back post very easily.
Altidore could have very easily chipped that ball over the keeper.
C'mon guys...y'all are professional strikers. Do your dang job.
-sigh- I suppose there's always next time. And, maybe...just aybe, our fullbacks and centerbacks will do their jobs.

I have not personally watched any of the World Cup, but my husband has been ranting mad about the referees.

Ah well. Now that both the USA and England are out we can all relax and enjoy some superb football. As my son heard somewhere, watching England play is certainly a cure for constipation.
