am a military wife with 5 years of marriage and 2 kids and 2 deployments, had the kids alone while he was deployed and our relationship always got better while deployments, we didn't cheat on eachother but the distance gave us time to miss eachother enought to evaluate each other virtues and appreciate more what we have and go into a more spiritual level than just physical, now belive it or not we talk more by emails everyday than what we talk when we are together, now I just found the book his needs her needs last week and I just ate it all in 2 days, I loved it and talked to my husband about it and now he is reading this website and getting to know about it, and we decided we gonnna work in our issues, because of course no couple is perfect until we realize that we been doing wrong things without meaning to hurt eachother.

Military couples can live for long, it's the willing and the communication what makes them stronger.

Since this is now detached from the original thread, let's take note that nobody actually said that.

I originally started this thread as a response to the statement in another thread that military marriages are doomed. I can't remember what thread or who said it... but it was said.

Here's the thread:

http://forum.marriagebuilders.com/ubbt/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2340903#Post2340903

Nobody was saying that; it's just that some people were twisting what others were saying to mean that. smile

Now that I look at it I guess it was orignally on another thread. I wonder why the moderators separated it from the original?

Actually that is a completely false representation of what was said. What was really said was this:

And a poster completely distorted and twisted my meaning by saying:

It was Chrisnova who said "military marriages are doomed" in her attempt to misrepresent the point of this forum.

Don't venture in this section much... But!

My oldest nephew just returned to his wife and children in Japan after his orders had him "home" in the states for two years. I told him that when he got home, I had some reading for him. He replied; "Well, the Navy chaplain in Guam had us read this book - His Needs, Her Needs - before he would agree to marry us..."

Good enough, sir. Read it again.
