Dragonfly - this right here drove the nail straight through the board.

I have been with my wife for 16 years, and this little explanation Sugar put out describes ME to a tee.

Now, I have remained faithful for our entire relationship and marriage, but it's because I am self-aware; if sex is offered on a plate, I will take it. So I STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THE BUFFET.

It was, in fact, my wife who had an affair, and she believed that SHE WOULD NEVER DO IT.

We are all capable of some form of infidelity if we allow others to meet our emotional needs (it has nothing to do with how well our spouse meets our emotional needs).

What you have going now is limiting the opportunity for needs to be met outside the marriage. THAT IS A GOOD THING.

The move will also be good... it will (excuse the expression) get the pig away from the trough.

Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate everyone taking some time to help me. I think HoldHerHand said what I really need to do....I need to stop focusing on forgiving my H. I am so stuck with that part that I am holding back myself from falling in love with my H again.

I just wanted to update everyone. I am fully committed to recovery. I really feel like now that I have pushed back my need to forgive him now, I can truly focus on us again. Last night, we spent hours trying to put up a new ceiling fan...this was so much fun. I am playing this day by day, and I know in my heart, that one day I will be able to forgive my h for his long term affair.

Just wanted to pop in and give an update. My H passed his poly so that really helped put my mind at rest. My H bought me a new wedding set and has begun the process of us renewing our vows at a beautiful scenic area. Don't get me wrong, I still have my moments of doubts, but they are getting weaker.
