Two of my students were killed in a car accident this morning. One was a junior whom I had in my class every year since she was a 6th grader.

The other was a senior which was either in my class or I coached on the soccer team since she was a 6th grader. I was especially close to the soccer player as I also coached him on the boys soccer team until he graduated 2 years ago. I was taken in as part of their family since I he was able to get him a college scholarship to play soccer. He was the first in the family to go to college.

I'm left thinking about the conversations I had with these two girls yesterday... The last time I will have had a chance to see, visit, and interact with them. The last time I'll ever see them. Were my last words kind, positive, uplifting? Were they meaningful?

Such a tragic loss of young life.

What an awful thing to happen, KT. Any loss of life is painful, but the loss of kids so young is just....deadening.

I'm sure your influence on their lives was positive, friend, and there are many others that will lead lives enriched by your efforts.

Perhaps that is of some comfort......if not today, then soon.

Thanks all. I'm kinda still all letting it soak in. I'll be sad for awhile but I'll be okay.

So sorry to hear about this.

Growing old is a privilege far to often denied to many.

God bless..
