My Husband and I are newlyweds, but have been seeing and dating each other since high school. He's cheated on me numerous times, and I've always come back. I Love him, and we got married in Aug. I still have some trust issues with him, but recently my biggest issue is his actions on facebook and instagram. He has been liking obscene and pornographic pages and pictures of women and girls that he knows,...he also has been commenting on them some things that I feel he should only be saying to me. Such as "Wow", "ooo cowgirl ;)", and "nice butt". He also has not posted that he is married and I fear that he is still letting on that he is single. I am seriously ready to divorce him, I have been telling him about this bothering me for the past almost six months since I found out, Am I going over board if I feel disrespected and bothered by this? Should I do as he says and "get over it"?

Welcome to MB.

First of all no you're not "going overboard" and shouldn't just get over it. It sounds like you haven't recovered from what he has done to you.

Did you live together before your marriage?

Please read this.

Yes, we lived together before we got married.
I've tried repeatedly to explain to him how it hurts me that he is hurting me but he says I just shouldn't be looking at it then, for me to "stay off" his facebook.
What do I do?

Carol, I would hit "notify" and have this moved to SAA. Unfortunately, you and your H are not in recovery since he is engaging in behavior that should have been eliminated after his affairs. You will get more help with your next steps over there....

When you said he "cheated on you numerous times," did any of those times occur after you got married? You've only been married for a few months, and I'm wondering if he has actually had an extramarital affair already.

Regardless, you should read Dr. Harley's Buyers, Renters and Freeloaders for a crash course in why living together prior to marriage likely contributed to your current problems.

Given this man's history, Dr. Harley would have advised you not to marry him. Basically, the dating and engagement periods are like job interviews for marriage. Your husband failed the interviews repeatedly, but you hired him anyway. In the brief time you've been married, he has already proven that he is not husband material. There's a good chance you will need to cut your losses and divorce. If that's the case, I recommend doing it before he gets you (or someone else) pregnant...

With this history and his obvious disregard for your feelings, consider cutting your losses, to save you from a lifetime of having to put up with this kind of behaviour and worse. What about if you get pregnant and feel fat? What about when you are 50 and he is still trolling for 17 year olds?

People can only change if they want tothemselves and even then, it is hard work.

You are young enough to start over. If you wait five years you will have invested 10 years in this man and will try to make it work for the children. Then you will be trapped and he will know it. That will certainly not make him better his behaviour.
