Hi HBH, I congratulate you and applaud you! It's been a year and I still can't listen to any love songs. I guess you're living proof that better things lie ahead...I pray that's true.
Enjoy your victory!

Thanks Terrified, I still can't listen to my wedding song, or some of the other really deep, meaningful songs that come on, but for the most part I can actually handle love songs now, it's awesome, because that's something little that I really enjoy doing and have not been able to do for SO long.
Someday, you will too. I hope it's soon for you, I really do. I know you are going through a tough time right now, and I wish that on no one. <<<<<<<Terrified>>>>>>
Anyone else got any accomplishments?
HbH

I didn't cry in front of my H once yesterday while he was preparing to leave our home for his apartment.

Well, I suppose you could say it is an accomplishment.
I have been able to crack jokes about the OMs while at the same time wanting to kill the bums...lol
Hey I also have a 2 hour interview for a new job. Better get going to that...I'm late...lol. Not really. Just nervous.
jd

Right now I'm definitely not into love songs....however I generally listen to alternative anyways and it's not much on love....
Right now my fav songs is "you remind me" by nickelback....and "duck and run" by three doors down - clearly I'm not necessarily showing any signs of improvement in the music area....I think listening to this music lets me get rid of the anger in a non-violent way....here's hoping anyways.

I have to jump in on this one...
I actually made myself a CD with a bunch of "love gone wrong" type songs:
"Tainted Love" - Soft Cell
"Don't Think Twice" - Bob Dylan
"Heart of the Matter" - Don Henley
"Patience" [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] - Guns n Roses
You get the idea. Some of this stuff actually makes me feel stronger.
Another big accomplishment for me - I've gone nearly a week without initiating any contact with my WS.
NP

One accomplishment I failed to mention...I no longer call my WS on his cell phone during the day wondering what he's doing, what he's thinking, etc. Whenever H left in a fit of anger, I'd normally call him crying and desperate. I haven't done that in about two weeks. I used to call my H at least once during the day. He hates that, says it's too late, etc. Now, although it hurts, I wait for him to call and he normally does even if it's with a reason.

Elad, is that what that means? Oh man, never thought I was capable of that. LOL
Terrified, good for you, keep looking at the positive stuff during this time. It really helps!!
NP, I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for the CD yet, but I'm working on it...
BGentle, good for you!! I lost 22 lbs in all, but gained 3 back after my appetite came back. Been doing keep keeping it off though, just make sure you don't get sick!!
JD, well now, I guess that is quite an accomplishment, isn't it? LOL
LLL, I like alternative too, but love songs just really hit a chord with me.
HbH

HBH I went to see my counselor today and told him I've been doing alot of reflecting on the last 6mos. 6mos ago I didn't think I would get through this. Today I've realized that I am still here functioning, going to work, taking care of my kids and my house. I haven't had a breakdown, didn't lose my job because of all the stress. Started to go out with friends and am doing more things alone with the kids. So I'd have to say these are the positive things I see in my life right now.
