Not for extended period of time ... you are asking for trouble when you start to put M to test. Sometime one has to do what is needed but at what cost ?. To availiate the pain, phone contact ? ICQ ? and so on but there is subtitute for H present. Could you visit him during weekend ?
Most of all, Have you discuss your concern w/ H ?.

Jennikins,
Tell him how you feel and ask him how he feels. Talk about the situation together and then work together to find a solution that works for the two of you.
For example, can you be there with him? If you can't be there with him, can you phone every day? can you email him? can you send SMSs. What can you do to maintain the closeness?
If I'm away on business I call my wife when I wake up and when I go to bed. And if I can manage, I call her during the day. She does the same. Sometimes, that's not been possible, so SMSs have helped.
good luck,
- Freddy
