One night, years ago, when I was feeling so lonely, betrayed, abandoned....., I wandered into a Bible class at my church. I had not found a class I was happy in and had some issues with the teacher but, that night I was sent to that class by Someone who knew what was going on.
And there I found some of the most healing words possible for my situation. I was impossibly sad. And God sent me healing that night.
For a long time, I've wanted to share this message here. But I've been afraid to. And tonight is the night.
These words were written for the Israelites. But on a Wednesday night when I was desperate, they were read to me.....
From the New International Version of the Bible, I give you Proverbs 54:4-6.....
ISA 54:4 "Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
ISA 54:5 For your Maker is your husband-- the LORD Almighty is his name-- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
ISA 54:6 The LORD will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit-- a wife who married young, only to be rejected," says your God.

I like this JE. I needed to hear it.
Knowing my background you will understand the hard time I have had adjusting myself to all of this D.
Did you ever take that class with Dean Craig, Marriage & the Christian Home? Some of the things he said in there are what I have the hardest time getting aroung.
Thanks again, btw did ya'll thaw out?

Yes, I took that class - I think it was required. LOL. I wonder if we were in the same class.
One of the good things/bad things about having ADD is that you don't remember a lot of stuff but you do remember other things. If you upset us, we'll get over it because we do so many things that we need to be forgiven for. But if you ever really make us mad, your goose is cooked in our eyes.
Well, about all I remember about that class is that his wife was always dolled up and had ironed table cloths on the table for dinner every night - even with three children. And I think she had probably been deified in his memory because she had already been dead 15 years by the time we took the class. So, I don't think he had a real grasp on reality.
Oh, and I took some psych class about marriage/family - taught by a single woman.
Great insights - one class taught by a man whose wife had been dead for over 15 years and the other taught by a never married woman. [ January 20, 2003, 08:57 PM: Message edited by: cinderella ]
